Thanks a lot Nanonox, seeing those decks help. I'm afraid I'm not the best drafter so I tend to believe I need more "synergy" than I actually do. For example, I think I need more discard outlets than it's really necessary.
Still, I would see if I can tighten things up. I like how Body Double...
I just took her out because she just stalled the game by flooding the board with 1/1 tokens that couldn't attack. In general, I'm cutting down the amount of tokens in my cube dramatically so I'm not even sure why I look into Keeper of the Accord. One of the issues I'm trying to fix with my cube...
I can see that. Sorry, I'm attracted to durdling too much. I'm looking for something midrange and control heavies might like. Aggressive decks just take Ranger of Eos or any other 4-mana topper so they don't care what it is.
In my cube I run 4 reanimation spells, two of which are standalone (Animate Dead, Necromancy) and two of which are more demanding or value-based (Unburial Rites, Dread Return). This means the Reanimator deck is common but not always present.
I'm looking for cool 4-mana white creatures that aren't Emeria Angel. It's not a slot that is seeing a lot of action so feel free to make any suggestions.
Is this actually good? I like the effect and the crossover between aggro and stax, but that statline seems rough. I plan to nerf my removal a bit but it still seems too much:
Hokori, Dust Drinker
Haha, I wasn't kidding! I think Inscho's cube is the largest influence on mine, then yours.
Your analysis is spot on. I knew I had a 2/2 format but I did not see all the implications of that. In fact, I can see the issue comparing your list and mine. While your list is similar, you do run more...
Ok here are some potential cuts:
Elspeth, Sun's Nemesis Joraga Treespeaker Hangarback Walker Weaponcraft Enthusiast Everflowing Chalice Coldsteel Heart
Replacements:
Force Spike -> Censor
Hidden Stockpile -> Kambal, Consul of Allocation
Potential additions:
Throne of the God-Pharaoh...
Let me use an example of what I mean. An Ux deck had this board:
Jace Beleren Urza, Lord High Artificer Barrin, Tolarian Archmage plus Urza's token
It's not a formidable defense. And yet, the GW deck it faced couldn't get damage in. The board slowed down with most relevant threats being...
Seems I wrote while you guys were replying!
I agree Yahenni and Thalia, Heretic Cathar should go in. Both are versatile cards that can put some pressure. I do have a bit of a nonbo between spells matter in UWR and Thalia but it should be minor.
Perhaps some small changes could go a long way...
Hey, thanks for the post Sigh.
I agree there are quite a few token generators in my cube. The issue I have is not so much stalling defensively as it is stalling and not being able to do too much with the resources you have. I feel the value is not being directed towards wins but towards...
What can you tell me about Stuffy Doll? Magic has changed so much since it came out I can't evaluate it!
Stuffy Doll
Also, the TSP picture is the best picture. What the hell is this new thing.
With physical cards in hand, I've been able to test more than before. And I've started to see a problem: It's difficult for decks to close out the game.
Here's the thing: There are many ways in my cube to get value. There's a lot of cheap interaction, recursion, tutors and all other tools to...
Why would positive criticism be more constructive than negative criticism?
Personally, Fortell doesn't do much for me. I would rather have Echo, perhaps Suspend.
So, I went and tested the game-busting Lin Sivvi errated to humans and...it's solid but not broken at all? In fact, it has been surprisingly fair and quite fun.
Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero
Lin is a card-advantage engine for White decks. This is interesting because there are not a lot of...
It's stronger than it looks - it kills amost everything for one mana - but I think it's the kind of card you should only run in your cube if you are explicit about supporting discard and graveyard strategies. I think your cube doesn't run enough of a graveyard focus for it to be good. You also...
