True... but that's assuming that a grind-y deck wants the depletion lands. They're for decks that want to be here for a good time, not a long time.

I've only really played with them in Pauper... but they're really nice if you've got a bunch of proliferate floating around or are trying to ramp into something. One of my favorite openings is T1 depletion land → T2 Island, Everflowing Chalice, Experimental Augury → five mana on T3.

I stumbled on this thing recently. I really like the Blood damage rule (it's positively inspired) and the cheeky Divert/Ricochet Trap tech.

Utility land morph draft, maybe? (An incredibly stupid idea: say that face-down creatures are Commanders and let people draft some backgrounds.)

It does bonkers stuff if you've got any effect that increases the amount of damage you deal, works wonders with Wither and Infect, can bypass stuff like Phantom Tiger's damage prevention or shield counters...

This seems... pretty trivial to solve? Like, in a deck where you'd reasonably want the first half you're probably going to be solving this on the same turn as you play it.
