In WoW TCG you get a 7-card starting hand (like Magic), and once per turn you can play one of them face down as a "resource" (that game's equivalent of lands). So it's guaranteed, in a way, but you still have to decide which card to put down / how high you want your curve to go. Having played...

Yeah, this is what I do, I have a black and white template for cards that I printed a couple hundred copies of, then just make things with a pen. I don't actually know graphic design stuff, so not sure what I'll do once things start to get to the polishing stage.

Sequencing is pretty fun with the deck. I do think BR Legacy Sacgro has more interesting decisions, but I don't get golden epics for playing it.

Right now I have so much time between playtests, because each playtest reveals huge glaring problems. I'm on like, the 4th iteration of my resource system and every time I have to make / rework a ton of cards that are compatible with the new system.

I didn't really play much HS this month, but I did still feel obliged to get to Rank 5 in Wild. Playing against Quest Rogue so much really soured me on Standard, so I became the scourge of Wild: Pirate Warrior. I actually enjoy piloting it, far more than something like Aggro Druid. Been...

Any of you play the WoW TCG? Did you like the mana system?

Flayer all day. Even when I ran, like, the most Zombie heavy cube ever, I still cut Lotleth Troll. Flayer is both more likely to make your decks, and more interesting in them.

It's not exactly cube related, but I did my second playtest of a board/card game prototype I've been working on last night. Still very rough, but it was already infinitely more fun than the first playtest, which only went a few turns before I scratched my head and had enough feedback to know to...

I think we all have our own tolerance for variance. On the Hearthstone subreddit, I often see people bemoaning my favorite cards (Discover effects, random card generation). These are the cards that often make watching a stream (or better, playing the game) so enticing, because they create...

Hearthstone is infinitely more watchable on Twitch than MTGO, or worse, the Pro Tour. That said, I'd still much rather just watch a player's stream than a tournament match. For games that I consider "proper" eSports (Melee, CSGO), it's very much the opposite.

I think if people hate variance so much they should pick a different game.

I really quite like the Thoughtseize family of cards, but that may be a personal bias towards cheap hyper-efficient 'interaction'. It feels great to cast, and yes sometimes it sucks to be on the receiving end, but I don't personally find it more negative of a feeling than other scenarios.

Just by how much the whole thing felt like a farce. Dare to dream, etc. And because it's like, MTGO is such a shitcan that it's borderline impossible to get a draft going on there unless WOTC hosts it.

I watched it. My girlfriend and I did the whole "guess the Top 3" thing, and I already had Belgium and Sweden in, debating between Portugal and Italy. I didn't actually like the Italian entry, but the Belgian commentator kept saying that it might be the winner, so I wrote that down. Whoops...
