I was so close to mentioning the Freebooter myself. I rate Collective Brutality slightly higher, but Freebooter has been excellent for me as well. It's way more relevant than yould expect of a "worse" Brain Maggot clone. Both the evasion and the creature type make a huge difference!
Really? What qualities does Magic possess that it actively makes peoples lives worse then? And which of those qualities can really be attributed to Magic, and wouldn't exist (in some other form) if Magic didn't exist?
Yeah, what sigh said. I was not referring to Tetsuko being a lock piece, I meant that the card is going into my cube for sure.
Burning Vengeance is also a very cool payoff card, but it is indeed at odds with Rise. I think both are great fun, and if your spells from the graveyard theme works and...
Yeah, it's not very good on its own, but with the right support, like the Pyromancer sigh mentioned, or a bunch of saprolings, it can break board stalls like nobody's business! It's pretty much a lock for my cube.
I have only very limited experience with Dominaria, but I do have a nominee from the new set.
Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive
This has been absolutely delightful, especially when paired with random 3/1 haste men!
Rise from the Tides
This is the most satisfying spells matter payoff I've ever cubed with. Period. Flood the board with zombies!
Collective Brutality
The Swiss Army knife of black removal, this is a great tool. Not only can it deal with small creatures and spells, but it's also a great discard...
Crypt Ghast lets you grind out games through extort, and propels you into your big plays earlier because of the mana boost.
Lashwrite is nothing more than a big beater. When combined with cards like Vampire Nighthawk and Gifted Aetherborn it has some additional benefits (muchos life gain), but...
So... Why is the idea of someone spending $5K foiling out an EDH deck horrifying? Why is it obvious that all personal discretionary spending is on a sliding scale of immorality? I'm not well versed in either side of the pro- or anti-capitalist debate, but to me that sounds like an extreme thing...
Capitalism certainly has its downsides, but since I'm already rolling my eyes at the "economic inequality is a crime" part, I think it's safe to say that your thoughtful post is enough of a synopsis to not make want to read the article.
That's... a bit passive aggressive, isn't it? You've never struck me as abrasive online, quite the opposite really, what's up with that remark? Now I'm wondering group dynamics and how the rest of the team reacted to that remark.
