General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

There was a question of how aggro would do with all the added lifegain in my cube. Last night's finalists. Ones 4 Gravecrawler 1 Carrion Feeder 1 Reckless Charge 1 Pillar of Flame 1 Lightning Bolt Twos 1 Dark Confidant 1 Umezawa's Jitte 1 Hellspark Elemental 1 Porcelain Legionnaire 1 Blood...

    Card/Deck +1/+1 Counters

How many copies of Brainstorm would I need to include in my cube before Lorescale Coatl becomes playable?

General Life Gain as a Thing

I'm having trouble getting anybody to go all-in on the lifegain deck, but the cards that support it are still getting played. Last night somebody even just jammed Ajani's Pridemate into their :g::w::b: midrange deck and it ended up being a huge threat. On a couple occasions it grew to a 4/4 or...

    Eric Chan's Modern cube (405)

I just think Mortars is a more compelling design, and it explicitly supports Red control. What's not to love?

    Card/Deck +1/+1 Counters

Also not that if you are moving around +1/+1 counters, some cards get a little ridiculous. Kitchen Finks Murderous Redcap

    Jason Waddell's Cube

Even if I had Entomb in hand, I'm not even sure Haakon would be the ideal target. Maybe. Is this really a card? I do run 6 knights...

    Sets BNG Spoilers

A prohibitive mana cost that doesn't even support Devotion. I'm putting it on a no-fly list.

    Eric Chan's Modern cube (405)

Mortars plays really well and there's a fun tension between cashing it in for value now and waiting for the one-sided sweep.

    Jason Waddell's Cube

Somehow it manages to work. I've 3 - 0'd with a couple GB decks filled with them, last week a GR Ramp deck went 2 - 1 using those spells.

General It could happen in any number of formats

Erm, maybe. But that was the scooping point anyways so it didn't really make a difference. I suppose a mistake is still a mistake though.

    Jason Waddell's Cube

You could probably get away with 16, although maybe this isn't a Primal Command deck.

    Eric Chan's Modern cube (405)

I think you're being a bit naive about Mortars, Eric. Do you have some justification for that stance?

General Non Blue Control in Cube

I'll read this later, but I have used Chandra's +0 a ton in cube, and it's a pretty enjoyable ability. I do agree that it doesn't slot very cleanly into a control shell.

General It could happen in any number of formats

I got out-teched tonight when my finals opponent played all basics, then used Zealous Conscripts to steal my Wasteland and blow up another land, locking me out of a color.

    Card/Deck Fast mana rocks

I kind of wonder if an archetype is worth supporting in a traditional cube if it requires fast mana rocks to operate. I don't think the upside is worth the cost.

General It could happen in any number of formats

Play of the day today involved attacking with an 0/1 Blood Artist to trigger Curse of Shallow Graves. Later Blood Artist would rumble into the red zone off of Teetering Peeks and Reckless Charge. So OP.

    General CBS

Hannes fell asleep reading a book and missed our entire draft, so we had 7. We did the MODO style random picks thing for him, and his pool ended up forming some BW beatdown deck that we all agreed was better than his average brew.
