General Life Gain as a Thing

Okay duders, let's make this happen. So, here is the deal. Most of the life gain incentive cards blow chunks. A couple don't. Ajani's Pridemate Archangel of Thune Searing Meditation Path of Bravery Double Pridemate probably? Archangel is good enough on its own and doesn't really need thematic...

    General The Constructed thread

I never read any of the MTG life advice articles, but I was thinking along the lines of the "take ownership for your own success", "always shake your opponent's hand", sort of stuff. Positive in the sense that he shows real excitement for the decks he plays and I think that's pretty contagious...

    General The Constructed thread

Hmm... some of you are hating on Travis lately, but I gotta say, I have played a ton of Pauper Delver and would have never made the connection to porting it to Modern. I've been watching the LSV videos, and the Disrupting Shoal inclusion is genuinely inspired. I had forgotten about the card, and...

General 'walkers and "everything costs 4"

I don't think it's perfect, but the article that comes out in ChannelFireball next week describes my new 15-card format that largely eschews flood and screw by virtue of having small deck sizes which inherently reduce variability in draws (if you have a land heavy opener you really can't draw...

General 'walkers and "everything costs 4"

Err, sorry about that last post, I made it from my phone in the dog park and it doesn't quite have the tone I'm looking for. Let's dig in, as this is an interesting topic. Unless you've tried to make your own, chances are you've never played the original version of any game. You've played a...

Let's keep in mind that chess is a game that was iterated and iterated until reaching it's current state. Chess didn't fall out of somebody's brain as the game that is played today. I am sure there were versions that were much worse, and versions that thankfully introduced new pieces.

Well, Wordpress is a little borked, but everything is up now. The front page is not in the correct order and I don't know why, but there it is.

Well, everything is out of order. Trying to manually adjust timestamps, bear with me. I may take everything down for ~20 minutes.
