Rite of Belzenlok is indeed pretty weak. The reason is that it doesn't do anything for three turns. If you play it on turn four, you won't be attacking until turn seven. A 4/4 flyer would have done more damage in the meantime and you can get one of those with an upside, like Nightmare...

I'm sorry, but I like making others miserable. That's why I've created the Misery cube, where everyone is given 3 Smokestacks and 2 Stasis at the start. Divine Intervention is a beautiful piece of design and a P1P1 if you don't get any Mox Diamonds (Of which I run a couple).

It plays better, it's more useful and it's much better in a cube environment. I just wish it was as clean in wording.

The problem with Oracle is the massive wall of text. Laboratory Maniac is so much cleaner I wish it was the better card.

In my experience, Jadelight Ranger is much better than Merlfolk Branchwalker but neither has been great for me. Seeing two cards makes Ranger a pretty solid card, but Branchwalker is often a 3/2 that does nothing.

I remember playing the April cube and it was awful. Very color-clunky with bomb after bomb dropping into the battlefield. But I'll give another chance since it's free.

More than trying to keep it hidden, what works is provinding people an incentive to give it a pass or ignore it or look the other way.

I just wish Verdurous Gearhulk costed six instead of five. It's a card I like very much, but it's just so good in pure raw numbers that its synergies just don't matter.
