Really cool white card! I like the "mini-batallion: draw a card" and the ability to turn lands (or any other dead card) into 2/2s. More riot stuff, and also +1/+1 counter tribal. Is it any good in 1v1? Don't really know! Maybe in some GR +1/+1 Midrange deck? Edit: lol didn't realize both...

Hm, too bad they didn't make battles that say "when this battle is defeated, sacrifice it and do X". I think that would've made me like them much more, now they have to flip before they can give you the reward.

I suppose that's true. I just am bummed by sometimes having to disregard a card because it uses one of these "poisonous" mechanics. But that is a very cube specific concern of course, I understand the sets are designed for many different kinds of play.

I will say this; there seems to be an increasing trend of having a set introduce a gimmick permanent and frequently make reference to it in the abilities of creatures in the set. Things care explicitly for treasures, or care explicitly about powerstones, or mention battles explicitly. It leads...

For what it's worth, I found ONE to be pretty decent to play. I'm guessing the same is true for MoM, and I don't mind just getting a handful cool cards in regular sets.
