Yeah imagine that card costing 3 instead. That'd be sweet! Spending your entire turn 5 for a measly 2/3 will mean having negligible board impact and then you need to spend more resources incrementally over several turns to get the value out of the card.

It combos pretty well with cards like opt and ponder i.e.cheap cantrips.

I agree with this sentiment. Probably more important to have a few interesting options in all colors if you want to spread out a theme, than to necessarily have a critical mass. braids, cabal minionphyrexian scriptures Does braids count? Scriptures seems like a strong incentive to me, but...

I think it depends on what distribution you want in the final 40 card decks that the player ends up playing with. Should be possible to work backwards from having X many cards of your 23 playables corresponding to X number of cards in your colour section, adjusting for some margins in there...

General Embrace the Chaos / Cube Occasionals

Excellent opening post Japahn. I can say I've been prone to this as well! I've always tried to make the 3 cards I put in my guild section have some kind of cohesive theme. Might be worth trying the flip side of that and let each card have its own distinct theme, along with introducing more...

Cardmarket for me as well. I've had some luck with local facebook groups as well. Luckily Stockholm has a pretty active mtg community, and it's nice to buy cards from people in person sometimes when you want things quickly.

You could probably even stop some activated ability that's triggered in the attack step as well, for added blow out potential! If someone's curious as to why it has 31 options, it's the sum of the ways you can can choose 1 mode, 2 modes, 3 modes, 4 modes and modes 5, which is 5+10+10+5+1 = 31 :)

Isn't it a lot easier to cast this in response to removal if you a deck with several bodies? 2 mana is much harder to keep up.

This seems like an even more awful version of Thragtusk. Not as much guaranteed value, but god does that run away WAY to quickly. It's just a big dumb idiot card!

It's a static effect since you're never choosing anything and it doesn't trigger on the etb, it's just part of the text, would be my reading!

    General Companions, Yay or nay?

Here's an interesting development. New banned and restricted announcement just added this: https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/news/june-1-2020-banned-and-restricted-announcement The companion isn't always available to be cast anymore, you actually have to take a tempo hit to do...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I guess it depends on what you pair it with. +1/+1 and trample is potentially quite a lot of extra damage getting through if it's played in the same deck as some bigger creatures (like 3/3 and above).
