What do you mean by this? Here is what I noticed. IMO you could probably push lands matter a bit harder with the classics: Courser of Kruphix and Oracle of Mul Daya or some new spice: Kazandu Mammoth, Tireless Provisionner, Dryad of the Ilysian Grove. They are all basically 3 CMC so you'll...

I actually have a couple of Stars in my list and you are right: they are really solid. I could see myself replacing Urza’sand Mishra’s Baubles with a couple more. I was looking back at some old drafts and I saw a few “off-color” (BG and BU) decks using Marionette Master and various artifacts...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I played it and it has been stellar in my multiplayer cube. It usually takes out something early and then gives you a mana sink later. Sure my cube is slower than yours, but I think the play pattern will probably be similar. Cast early, dome later. Gives you 2 spell triggers and can be discarded...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

@japahn You make a compelling argument to remove the sacrifice archetype. My issue then is what to do in Black. I have a decent spells support as well as a solid GY support, but not much after that. I have to admit I am lacking imagination >< If keeping the archetype, maybe the sacrifice...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Phyrexian Tower I want to my sacrifice decks to be a more "intergrated" part of my environment. By that I mean that I want other decks than an aggro deck to care about sacrificing. I have Syr Konrad, the Grim who cares about GY and Greater Gargadon who can enable land sacrifices. Korvold...

I'm narrowing down the broad archetypes I want to support. I have these in mind (capital letter means heavy support, lower case means slight support). Lands Gwrub Spells URWBg Artifacts RUwb ETB WUg Sacrifice BRwg GY GBURw The color distribution isn't perfect, but I don't really care...

Mostly the mana value of the card changes. However, for my less experienced drafters, I'd much rather have the split card than the original. I know that they will skip Damn even if they are in a White control deck as it just doesn't look like a playable White card.

I drafted a fun Boros deck that prompted me to reevaluate a slot I hadn't considered touching. Ones 1 Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer 1 Chromatic Star 3 Faithless Looting 1 Path to Exile 1 Land Tax Twos 1 Soulfire Grand Master 1 Perilous Myr 1 Blind Obedience Threes 1 Feldon of the Third Path 1...

I like the Doom engine swap and Golos makes sense with your Wildfire plan. I'm not a fan of the Duplicant cut however. You mentioned your UG decks need help with removal, well Duplicant counts! If you cannot find Red creatures for your Wildfire decks, maybe artifact mana is the way to go there...

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

That's a really good question in regards to RG. The "storm" turn cards are Thousand-Year Storm and Professor Onyx. This means that I am looking at Temur or Jund storm rather than straight RG. An example I drafted recently. Ones 1 Greater Gargadon 1 Preordain 1 Pongify Twos 1 Thassa's Oracle...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I've liked Skarrgan Hellkite You have some decisions when casting it which are interesting and it is a nice mana sink late game. It's playable in all sorts of Red decks. I've also played Cavalier of Flame which ticks a lot of boxes (discard, lands, tokens). It was powerful, but the mana cost...

@dbs That deck is amazing! Fastbond seems like the key piece to give it all the engines the explosiveness they need to go off hard. Win Cons You know, now that I am actively looking at more storm type decks for my cube, Witherbloom Apprentice makes sense again as does Quandrix Apprentice. What...

    Sigh, again?

I think the blue control spells are just so inefficient. There could be an argument for Lullmage's Domination since your format is pretty GY oriented. I'm not a fan of the {u}{u}{u} casting cost, but late game it should be manageable. The only other option I have in mind is Tempted by the Oriq...

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

Thanks for the feedback. Here are a few changes I am considering Aether Spellbomb -> Hard Evidence Bouncing a card isn't great in MP, but Spellbomb was there more as an artifact that could cycle. Hard Evidence gives me the same kind of vibe, but actually adds to my board AND draws a card...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I second sigh's suggestions of Brazen Borrower and Commit // Memory. Solid interactive spells that offer lots of decisions. Careful with Urza's Saga though, the casting cost literally has to be {1} or {0}. So Esper Sentinel wouldn't work. I've like Yawgmoth's Will in your cube before and it's...

    General Fight Club

I’m in the Vile Entomber camp myself. It’s essentially a 2 for 1 as the body will trade for a ground creature and the card you are getting in the GY should do something ( Vizier of Many Faces to keep the chain going, Honored Hydra for a fatty, Stinkweed Imp for an enabler,...). Creatures are...

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

Grim Monolith I've been thinking about this card a bunch and would like some outside opinion. I see this as an artifact Dark Ritual. The reason I want to include it is to help getting some strategies active earlier. Cards like Thousand-Year Storm, God-Pharaoh's Gift, Shark Typhoon, Memory Jar...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I like the 2 White cards! Shepherd of the Flock I've really enjoyed this card in the Arena cube and in some other contexts. I think it would be a good fit for your cube (more so than Kor Skyfisher) It protects your guys from removal, resets a saga, can enable ETBs, is a spell, is a human and...
