    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Seems gross with Crucible of Worlds, so unless that's the point (which I would never put past you ;)) I'd think it should probably be an exile effect. There's also the issue of making yet another token, but I can live with that.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Wrong as in doesn't work according to the rules or wrong as in an affront to Richard Garfield and nature? For the former I think you'd have to make the cost a mechanic, as lands can't have costs. Something like CARDNAME Artifact Land Develop 3 (You may play this as your land for the turn or...

I completely missed that card somehow, thanks! And yeah, looks rough to play.

    General Edict Effects in Cube

Found blacksmithy's alt, lol. On topic, I think that this card for 2B might not be crazy. It would be strong for sure, but it might not be broken. 3B is too much unless you kept the same flashback (edit: got this mixed up with Chainer's Edict.), at which point it would be right back to being...

My thought is that the sac is more so that when/if it falls off it's not as dead as another small critter, i.e. that the sac is a fail case more than a plan A. But it'll do work in a RB Aristocrats shell, RW artifact aggro, RU artifacts--heck, you can probably make it do something in storm. It's...

Continuing the trend of busted red artifact 1-drops is this good boy. What the heck? Why did they sandbag this card so hard? Obviously, this is an amazing target for counters or equipment.

Well. This works nicely with a lot of things, but all I have eyes for is a busted Pod combo. :edh: Apart from that, though, I don't see much of a reason for this to be green.

Correct! But I don't think it's necessarily bad for Magic to get more complex as it matures.

Uh. Gang? What the heck? As my guess is that this is going to do stone-cold nothing without a Planeswalker, the question is how many you'd need to make this a reasonable candidate. I'd guess four to make this card not dead and maybe seven before it gets good? I don't think it's worth it unless...

Mmm, I think comparing it to Pod is the wrong way to go about this. Instead, think of it as a Worldly Tutor once a turn every turn if you can set up a way to get free tokens, which isn't an impossible ask. That seems pretty good to me. Obligatory :edh:

Short answer: kinda? Long answer: I don't run a rarity restricted anything, but I like buying cards when they're not outrageously expensive because the people at WotC deserve to get paid and rarity directly influences those prices. For example, I'll either proxy or forego anything that's too...

Oh gosh you can get it back with Abiding Grace. I take back what I said, this should be good anywhere.

Yeah, I was thinking for your type of cube precisely. If the curve is low enough that you can always play the card then it's very very good. If not, being able to control the timing is probably more important. I love how 1/1 for 1 is becoming a relevant sizing again.

Speaking of which, damn. I'm loving this tendency to let aggro grind a bit. Is this better than Voldaren Epicure? It might be in a vaccuum, but I think the discard/artifact synergy is more important than the sac synergy for me, plus the control over the timing is more critical than the precise...

Mordor's Cube (The Ship of Theseus)

That's your problem right there--gotta go at least to Somerville for the good shit. On topic, this is a fantastic writeup. It's always great hearing about testing methodology, and I think we tend to sweep failed experiments under the rug, so getting to read about your removing removal trial is...

Did someone say...Kess substitute? Also Spiderverse is freaking fantastic. I've seen about 25 minutes of Arcane, but it was a good 25 minutes, so I guess I'd recommend it, lol.

Another set, another crappy land cycle. Why couldn't it have come into play untapped? Why couldn't it grab a non basic? As it stands it's pretty much strictly worse than an Evolving Wilds (for our purposes at any rate. Yes, 1 life is not nothing, but I think we can agree that it's a negligible...
