I would run pyreheart wolf long before firefist striker. I think I even prefer something like goblin shortcutter before it in cube.

What do people think on Gather the Townsfolk vs Raise the Alarm? Are the humans worth the sorcery speed? I don't count on fateful hour coming into play that often.

There is no need to turn on Purphorus to have him being good. Just a way to play a couple of critters per turn after you get him out.

Of course. But running Balance with a bunch of sac outlets like Gargadon, Zuran Orb, etc makes it a lot more onesided then if you run it without cards that can abuse it to its fullest. I don't have much of a problem with Balance myself.

It all depends on what cards you run with it.

Cheesy powermetal is always good, and Blind Guardian is at the top of that list. I do like them quite a bit.
