I can't help but find myself wanting a card that is about half as good as a sword (well value wise) and costed about right for that, in quite a number of decks. Does specter's shroud fit that description?

1BR: 3/1 sacrifice a permanent to regen. Maybe even BR? BR: 4/1 1BR: 2/2 and when it becomes a creature target player loses 2 life. 3BR: Becomes a 3/3 and when it becomes a creature it deals 2 damage to target player.

Look no further than the combo cube or the 2012 modo holiday cube. Good lord do you have to be in the mood for those sort of things though. full power and full signets at 360 is nuts.

I designed quite a few flash devour 2 and 3 drops before I knew that card existed. I saw devour as a narrow mechanic that must have only been realized in a couple of niche cards / combinations. Very exciting figuring out angles that work though.

I dig some swingy cards. If you are winning with your Rude Awakening I think you probably earned it. Bonfire is just weird because you don't have to work for it too hard, but then again, you don't need to work too hard to remand an important spell out of nowhere or play something big two turns...

I tend to dislike people who play a lot of fighting games. The community and atmosphere is always so icky in my experience.

I feel like they need to employ more designers like me or specifically me to design weird cards. I also like the idea of more niche product with new designs like commander to change the design community from one of historical standards for abilities to environmental standards for abilities...
