Funny thing is, if Bring Back was 3 mana instead of 4 mana, Oakhame Ranger would be pretty decent :P (Bring Back is the adventure part of the spell.)

I might misremember. Did I confuse with another tournament? I feel like the top players were disregarding Oko at the tournaments because Field of the Dead was too strong back when they where both legal. If I am wrong. Someone explain to me why why did Field of the Dead receive the banhammer...

It literally got demolished. Top 8 had 8x4 Field of the Dead. Hence Field of the Dead was banned to make room for Oko.

Trainmaster I did not know that about Thragtusk. I remember them telling us Thragtusk was designed to work with Restoration Angel. Thank you for the throughough answer. Regarding Oko. Oko, Thief of Crowns wasn’t even in the meta long after it was released into Standard with Throne of Eldraine...

Could you back up the claims that no one at WotC R&D saw Thragtusk’s power and that Nissa was better than intended? I believe both cards are and were exactly as Wizards intended them to be.

Wizards did confirm that if (when) we go back to Tarkir, it will be with focus on the 3-colored Khans (clans) and not on the 2-colored dragon broods. They did the same with Zendikar and confirmed that a return set would be without Eldrazi and more focus on the adventures.

“Smirking fish theme” :P

I have cut almost all sorcery speed mono blue spells. It is an easy way to give blue yet another theme with no effort. It was tough to cut Scour All Possibilities but totally worth it. For that reasoning I prefer Omen of the Sea in a fight.
