Mostly just to emulate an effect that can't be recreated otherwise or to boost certain archetypes with a cornerstone piece. I've been pretty picky with mine over the years but I'll modify it once in a while if something isn't performing right or if the expected deck just never comes together...

Just stomps all over an Aggro deck; no way you get past a 5/5 Vigilance body + a removal spell + Ghostly Prison for two turns. By then the other side will have stabilized hard after a few draws. It's probably fine to play in higher power levels, but it's going to create an arms race.
