I think Vault gets stronger the slower the environment, and the more prone you are to board stalls. It was okay in Standard, but the looser you get the more it takes over.

Uh... I'm actually not much of a Brussels fan. If you come to Antwerp I can show you around and let you crash at my place though.

    General [Design Discussion] Perfect Imbalance

It's important to keep in mind the "size" of the pool you are drafting from. Cube is probably much more akin to a highlander moba with 12 champions than 100. We actually draft 100% of the resources (even if some end up in sideboards). From my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong), a large...

This is actually the first time I've heard somebody call pod in cube overpowered. It's very average in my cube. What are other people's experiences? Rasmus, any ways your environment deviates from the norm?

Perhaps I was unclear. By fixed resources, I mean, there is a finite supply of cards in your environment. The players can "want" to play more edicts (or whatever), but there are a finite number of edicts. The "meta" so to speak is static. This is not a bad thing, or a good thing, it's just a...

    General [Design Discussion] Perfect Imbalance

Short (possibly not useful) answer: it depends on the bombs in question. But I think as a designer you're in control of that, via your selection of cards, and how you weight raw power in your card selection, relative to cards with sequencing options. As usual, I think a lot of this happens...

I don't think cyclical balance exists in a fixed-resource setting. In constructed, players choose which resources to bring to the player, and on a given day you can have, say, 50% of the players wielding a certain aggro variant. This doesn't exist in cube. An "evolving meta" isn't a very...

Yeah, white's super boring. I don't know what to do about it. I should probably push white control more.

    Card/Deck Blink

It's borderline. I ran it for a while and it fits in great into UR Tempo (already gave my ticket) shell, and featured in lots of 3-0 lists. It's currently not in there, but I never felt bad playing it.

Yeah, it would be ideally a fun mini-game that the opponent is usually not aware of, but could theoretically play around if they choose to respect it. Probably better the more Brainstorms you have to shuffle away a situational card.

I've thought about putting this in my cube actually. I think it's got great fun mileage / card.

I don't really get any joy out of Armada losing. Nothing against him, it just doesn't do anything for me.

    Card/Deck Blink

I tried it once and the games were super anticlimactic. Cube will (likely) never have the same dynamics as Modern (the decks aren't built to dance around the war of resolving an "I win" combo).

I see it more in idealogical terms, not in terms of power level.

Power level counts. A 3/1 Ajani's Pridemate is less poisonous than a 2/2 one. I think of it as the amount of support needed to make a card viable in a deck. Case in point, some of the later Infect cards were in fact less poisonous than the ones in SOM.
