General [WAR] War of the Spark

It's really on the nose. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm a little put-off with how many boxes it checks tbh. I'll test it, but it might end up on the sidelines much like Titania, Protector of Argoth.

I'm getting a little careless in labeling Monarch inelegant for 1v1. The inelegance for me lies more in including a single instance of a non-evergreen mechanic in my cube that has only been featured in a small run multi-player set. Monarch is fine for 1v1, but is more dynamic in a multiplayer...

I cubed Regal Behemoth for several months. I thought of it as a fair Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger. It was a pretty good power level for me, but I ended up cutting it for the mechanic's inelegance for 1v1 play (similar to will of the council)

General [WAR] War of the Spark

There's a handful of fringe scenarios when tapping down a 1cmc creature with a tap ability is useful for forcing an action: Mother of Runes Goblin Welder Deathrite Shaman etc...but if you are running Gideon's Lawkeeper, you're probably not running many of those culprits. Other good...

I'm very interested in this one. Love the crossover of spells and artifacts, and being functionally mono-colored to boot!

Oh, this is great. I like this more than Judith, the Scourge Diva. Feels a little more elegant, triggers on tokens....while putting some pressure on your opponent's decisions. I don't care so much about the creature buff of Judith.

That's kinda gross....two bodies on the first attack is the floor? Far outside of consideration for my cube. However, super funny with: Eidolon of Countless Battles

Red 2's are super stacked at this point. I'm thinking back to how slim the pickins were when I first started cubing... The cut won't be easy, but this is a must for me

Someone interpreting a hyrbid card to be a signal of a supported guild, especially a card like the above Kiora that appears to outline some sort of archetype, isn't failed logic. The simple fact that the mana symbols being included together reflects a positive relationship between the colors...

The hybrid mana signals Simic to me even if it's functionally no different from being 2G or 2U. It implys a pairing and theme that should exist...like seeing a Tattermunge Maniac would lead you to assume gruul aggro is a supported archetype.

Nice series! I appreciate the thoughtful brevity. Is there a link to your list? I'm curious to hear about: Ancient Stone Idol Can you rank this among some common fatties in terms of oppressiveness? I sorely want to replace Artisan of Kozilek with a large artifact creature, but I feel it's...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I think it's mainly just the fact that Tradewind has a lot of modes, and it's not always obvious which way to use it: Attack opponent's manabase Tie up opponent's mana/tempo by bouncing opponent's permanents Save your permanent from combat/removal Bounce and replay your own permanent for profit...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I should spend some time thinking about why Tradewind's brand of repetitiveness is more palatable to me than say Oketra's Monument and Kor Skyfisher...which I loathe.

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

Thanks for the kind words! and welcome to the forum. Integrating those explosive/game-warping cards within a "fair" framework has been a long process of trial and error. I'm still not convinced I've got it fully figured out, but I'm definitely closer than I've been before. During the process...
