It's more oppressive in Constructed just because of the expectation of it - there are lots of decks that are 'powerful' but still unplayable because they fold to a turn 1 Thoughtseize. In Cube, even if you could construct a deck where that would be true it wouldn't be as much of a problem...

That sounds like it could have gone better

Somebody suggested that the player on the draw gets to look at the top card before making their mulligan decision. It gives you extra information without actually altering the normal start-of-game process.

Ok, but then you accept that those more widely usable cards will be poached by midrange/control decks sometimes.

But then you're carving off a great chunk of space in your Cube for cards that only fit in one category of decks.
