There's not really a precedent for what you're trying to do, but how often is the life loss thing going to matter? If you don't want to staple together the reminder texts (which I totally understand) I'ld be inclined to synch the ability with bloodthirst and just have it trigger on "If an...
I already started up Paint this morning, but I'm at work, and I need more than 10 minutes :) I'ld be happy to see if I can cook something up in my free time though.
Also, no summoning sickness sounds like a good idea if you're going with defenders not dealing damage! It certainly keeps the...
Random thoughts:
I know these are quick mockups, but I think the layout is a bit confusing. Attack range should be close to the attack value. I think I would put the attack value and range left of the type line, and the defense to the right of the type line, then find another spot for the...
Fair enough, I'm not particularly fond of the broken hero abilities either, but I do like the concept of heroes in general. There are a lot of fun heroes to mess around with as well, and they serve as a nice anchor to thematic decks. Once again though, I'm coming from a casual standpoint. They...
What I meant is that your wording deviates from the default template. WotC never uses wording like yours. Instead they use something like the card I linked.
Nope. I run a {w}{b}{u}{r}{g} color wheel in my cube, supporting Orzhov, Dimir, Izzet, Gruul and Selesnya. Consequently, the supported shards are Esper, Grixis, Temur, Naya and Abzan (i.e. the shards where two of the supported color pairs overlap).
My secret is I support only five shards, and you get a free triland with every three color card you draft (there's three in my 450 cube per shard). So, if you pick Cruel Ultimatum, you also get a Crumbling Necropolis for free. It has been a great incentive for people to pick up three color cards...
Damage to players causes loss of life, so you don't need to spell it out (though usually that part is in reminder text). See, e.g.,
Sygg, River Cutthroat
Oh man, you set yourself up with that first sentence, didn't you? Anyway, I disagree, to an extent. Closing off spells by marking them as belonging to a certain class works pretty well. A warlock deck will feel decidedly different from a paladin deck. Of course the same is true for a mono black...
Supernatural Stamina lets you trade with something in combat en get the card back. Undying Evil won't help you in that case, but it does, of course, grow the creature in the future. Undying Evil is also a much better answer to a removal spell. I honestly don't know which one is better.
I can only vouch for Pyromancer's Goggles. It's a silly card, but going off with it is too funny :) It's really good with cards like Tormenting Voice (which becomes discard 1, draw 4) and obviously with X-spells like Red Sun's Zenith, but any red spell will generally be sweet when copied. It's...
This dish is commonly called "patatje oorlog" (literally "fries war") because it looks like a mess, if you're wondering why that name. There's some places where they call it "patatje vrede" (you guessed it, "fries peace") because that's apparently less politically incorrect.
Oh yeah, definitely. Preferably warm from a market stand!
"Drop" (licorice) is also a Dutch delight, but you either hate it or love it. There's definitely a far above average amount of Dutch people who love it though. PersonallyI like the salty licorice best, by far. Be warned though, Wikipedia...
I played the shit out of this card back in the day, it's pretty sweet! It also really, really needs a reprint, now that it's Oracle wording actually says "Scry 1"!
I'm from the Netherlands and I've been there only twice, and that was more than years ago. Sorry. I do remember liking the Begijnhof, which was surreally quiet in comparison to the streets outside.
