Anyway: This is a cute design — I think it's a little overpriced (it's basically a Fireshrieker with a small upside), but I think this does cute stuff in any deck that cares about equipment.

I am perfectly aware of all of this... I wasn't being entirely serious when I referred to it as a 2-drop. It's a 2-drop in the sense that Prosperous Innkeeper is a 1-drop or Burning-Tree Emissary is a 0-drop (i.e., with plenty of sequencing restrictions).

Ah, but you immediately recoup that mana with your treasure.

Oh yeah, it's "just" a casual 3/3 for {1}{G} with Vigilance and Trample. No biggie. I feel like this guy is going to see a bunch of play in Pauper.

I feel like I'm posting every Treasure-producing card that hasn't already been posted by someone else. :p That said... I'm actually a little disappointed by the Treasure cards we're getting, since a lot of them are "you did a thing? here, have some cash!" buildarounds. Like, take Ognis here —...

Yep! Widespread Theft - {2}{R} Enchantment Hideaway 5 Whenever you cast a multicolored spell, create a Treasure token. Then you may pay {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}. If you do, you may play the exiled card without paying its mana cost. I kinda wish that I had a higher multicolor density in the Capitalism...

Because I've always wanted to turn Raise The Alarm into a strictly-better version of Gilt-Leaf Ambush. High-Park Pegasus - {G}{W} Creature - Pegasus Flying, trample Whenever High-Park Pegasus deals combat damage to a player, draw a card if two or more creatures entered the battlefield under...

Smuggler's Stash - {5}{G} Artifact Lands you control have "{T}: Create a Treasure token". I might have the only cube in the universe where this card is actively broken (I'll still test it, though).

Yeah, the fact that it works with any token is pretty sweet. I foresee it being absolutely hilarious with Black Market Tycoon.

And there are both the arts! :p Cunning Receiver - {W}{U} Creature - Human Citizen When Cunning Receiver enters the battlefield, choose a nonland permanent. Activated abilities of the chosen permanent can't be activated. Cunning Receiver has all the activated abilities of the chosen...

This actually seems like a really sweet card for token strategies — Dragon Fodder effects dumping 4 haste-y power or 6 vigilant power on the battlefield is nutty. It's a shame that the mana symbols are different sizes, though.

I might be the only one here who's actually pretty excited for another set that focuses on Treasures as a mechanic (as you've probably gathered).

I feel like I'll have a bunch of stuff to change around soon. Is this the best Fencing Ace variant we've gotten?

I mean, it turns any +1/+1 counters you might have into +2/+2 counters? And it goes infinite with Devoted Druid?

If I didn't hate keyword counters for being janky as hell, this would be a really interesting card.

Pyromancer of the Flaming Mallet - {2}{R} Creature - Viashino Shaman {1}, {T}: Pyromancer of the Flaming Mallet deals X damage to any target, where X is the number of permanents you've sacrificed this turn. 2/2 Why are we wasting our time discussing the clearly inferior sacrifice payoff when we...

Honestly, I feel like it's less of a silver bullet card and more of a value card. You can use it to turn tokens into real creatures, which shouldn't be that tricky.

Maybe this effect is playable at 1 mana? I dunno. But yeah, Evolving Door briefly made me super excited until I didn't see the words "without paying its mana cost".
