That design looks to be better than Mind Stone over the course of a long game. They probably wanted the card to be a common for Limited purposes, and printing that design at common would have been fairly busted in draft I think.

To be fair Goblin Bombardment is fairly narrow, as far as cards go. Underpowered... well, that depends on the context. Obviously it can hack it in Legacy in the right deck/hands, but it's not an obvious bomb.

Just thought I should chime in that if you are going to put more Flash in your environment, conditional counterspells become more valuable. Stuff like Negate is great when you have alternative plays if the condition isn't met.

I should point out that Death Star blowing up planet in A New Hope also happened super early, but the way they sold it with Leia's reaction was way better and made it feel more impactful (also Obi Wan's reaction).

I think Baloth is a pretty important card in my cube, the lifegain is pretty invaluable. I don't really see a need for Smiter in my environment though.
