    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I've run decks with 4x Gravecrawler where Smallpox was bad. It has some nice theoretical applications, but in practice it was almost always a clunky :b::b: spell that you wished were anything else.

    General Fight Club

I was really happy with Hinder when I ran it, I believe it was a CML recommendation. The power level of a lot of these cards are pretty similar though, I'd go with ones that have some play (Dissolve) or match your environment somehow (Hinder). That said, I miss casting Exclude. These type of...

    The Music Thread

When I was in London at one point James and I just sat there and listened to the entire "Feed the Animals" album by Girl Talk. I've been listening to it non-stop at work for about a month now, wonder when I'll finally get tired of it.

Article Cube Design - Tri-color Cards

    Only black tri-color cards... bias!

That's an interesting premise. I wonder how you could design to balance around that. It's decidedly anti-beatdown, as the control player usually skips their combat phase anyway.

Could the cycling one count lands and not turns? e.g. can only play if you control two or fewer other lands

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

I would run it in a BUG cube, at least to try. Green creatures probably represent about 40% of the creatures.

Do people running 3-color cubes run Deathmark style cards?

    General The Constructed thread

Yeah, watching LSV play vintage to me is more entertaining than VSL. VSLSVSLSV When you're playing you play around a lot of theoretical unknowns to give yourself small theoretical edges that might not be relevant in a given situation. When watching VSL there was a lot of "he will Ancestral...

Yeah, it's not that the games ended on T1, but somehow they lacked some meaningful tension. What was appealing about the presentation though was that the commentators didn't try to talk down to you or sell you on something. That was pretty refreshing.

Not to downplay the skill involved. And I watched all the matches, which is way more than I can say of other formats. But there was still something a bit offputting. I think part of it is that, when you watch someone stream you have a clear "hero", but I generally didn't have a rooting...

    General The Constructed thread

For some reason watching VSL made me less interested in ever playing the format. Being able to see both hands simultaneously revealed how few meaningful decision points there really were in most games. Maybe that's just Magic in general. It could also be the level of play, with relatively few...

    General Opalescence emblem cube (brainstorming)

I like how this gets around the problem of Enchantments having a narrow range of answers in a random environment. It's not a universal buff, but allows for more play. Random tangential idea, since this reminds me of Netrunner in a way: CARDNAME Pay X: Destroy CARDNAME. Either player may...
