I'm pretty sure it doesn't work as hybrid by MTG design laws. Hybrids are the intersection of two colors and golds are the union.

The last time I played a powered cube I got this Tinkered on me on Turn 2. I was playing Gruul beats. Like, the first line of text already beats that deck, and then the "protection from red and green" is just a kick in the nuts.

So one thing I miss from actual limited is the feeling when your cardpool comes together to just produce an absurd deck. I just put in a Mox Sapphire that appears 25% of the time. Armageddon too. Are there other exciting cards that are fun and juicy every once and a while that we don't want to...
