Volrath's Stronghold is very powerful. It is one of the few utility lands that can hold its own in the regular section of the cube. It's always a strong pick in the utility draft too. The card is at its scariest in a big dumb Timmy Golgari Thragtusk deck.

For the utility land stack: The other theme I was looking at is our favorite five-color tribe, Elementals. Obviously we have Evoke and its really nice interplay with Morbid. I wonder if we can't support some sort of Elemental control deck. Unfortunately there don't seem to be many cards...

Cost matters as an interesting effect in an Eldrazi cube? Duskmantle may be a little OP in this setting. Ludicrous ways to create lots of mana? Ways to flip the bird to Eldrazi tokens. Things to populate (just kidding, legendary token). Ways to spend lots of mana.

I don't think it is bad design to have cheap cards that are guaranteed to make their way to a control player (i.e. Condemn). It's a bit of a judgment call. I want our control decks to be doing things early, and this has been a useful card to have around. But maybe I have one of the only cubes...

I'll second the love for Electrolyze. So much value in one card. But as I said before, I'm pretty indifferent between the various Izzet spells. All I really care about is getting Ral into the Izzet section, one way or another.
