I do get the argument that it’s not as bad because prismatic only works while the card is your Commander. So while it may, for example, have a red effect for blue mana, your deck is blue red, so you are probably tapping a red mana source anyway while casting it.

Exactly. To be fair, the Jace deck is less boring than I make it sound. It also plays Ancient Tomb, Crystal Vein, City of Traitors, Saprazzan Skerry, and Syvelunite Temple to combo out a turn (or two) earlier! You can mulligan pretty aggressively with the deck too!

Not me, and it doesn't look particularly appealing when people are brainstorming Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler + Entomb, Narset, Parter of Veils + Timetwister, and Jace, Wielder of Mysteries + Treasure Hunt (and 58 Islands) builds.
