Modern Masters is probably the closest to cube they can get in a retail draft format. There's still all of the "unplayable" stuff like Spellskite, Hurkyl's Recall, etc (well, stuff that I wouldn't put in my cube, let's put it that way).

So, the previews started in ernest, and while the average cube probably won't be interested in many of the rares, which are mostly either busted, modern reprints that are not interesting for cube, or limited crap that wouldn't make the average cube (Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder? Really???)...

I would have given them different names, though admittedly Sandsteppe Citadel doesn't quite fit the picture.

Whip looks really strong in a field ill-equipped to kill artifacts or enchantments. I like how Den Protector can get it back, even if they kill it. There's a lot of redundancy in the deck, as long as you get the time to deploy.

Though to be fair, Sigil of the Empty Throne is pretty sucky. I thought I could get away with just giving it constellation, but getting a 4/4 flyer immediately and another on each enchantment you cast turned out to be a bit too much :)

Azami is good enough on her own and with incidental wizards in my experience (in a lower power cube). Riptide Director seems a bit too poisonous, Sage of Fables depends on the number of wizards and how strong your +1/+1 counter theme runs. It's pretty cute at least :)

I think I "finished" my new cube. I tested the last few customs today, and am happy with the current impact of the cards.

You are right. Wow, never realized that. I was just looking at the lords, and they suck, but the cards you list are definitely strong enough to be played outside a dedicated goblin deck, yet stronger in a tribal deck. Nice! Goblin Guide Spikeshot Goblin Goblin Heelcutter Siege-Gang Commander...
