I've been drafting Commander 2014 / Planechase 2 / Commander 2013 today (with Forge), and I wish it was a retail format. It's an absolute hoot to play (even though the occasional Sol Ring is super overpowered) :D

Doesn't need the drawback imo, but would prefer more colored mana symbols. {2}{w}{w}{b} or {2}{w}{b}{b} works equally well.

Wrath city :) I don't even run that many wraths anymore :) I do like the inclusion of multicolor wraths though, wish WotC printed some additional gold and playable wraths like Supreme Verdict, in other colors obviously.

That $10 price tag is really off-putting if you ask me. $30 for a draft, $60 for sealed? Ouch!

You are correct! In my experience Delver tends to be a bit poisonous, since it operates on such a different level from other aggressive creatures. In a way it's a very conflicted card: a "small", aggressive one-drop that doesn't want other aggressive creatures around. Cloudfin Raptor just gets...

I just run two Cloudfin Raptors as my aggressive blue one-drop of choice. It's been pretty awesome so far!

I am sad that it's a 3/3 that deals 2 when cycled. I'm a sucker for aligning stuff like that. What would the cycle cost be on deal 3 damage, gain 3 life? {3}{b}{b}? I think I like your suggestion of dealing damage better than losing life.

That is super cool, really out of white's color pie, and uncubable as printed. Of course the oracle text is much more reasonable, but I personally hate cards that are this blatantly not WYSIWYG.

It would definitely not be a strictly better version of Seachrome Coast, as you can't play it after you played your third land. I like the current wording however and I already printed the proxies :)

Well... Rightfully so I would say. They are pretty much the antithesis of western society. Also, ISIS itself is the greatest fearmonger, what with their recorded beheadings.

It hits everything everything though, and plays into themes on other black removal spell does. Plus, Magic games tend to be more interesting if the removal isn't much cheaper than the creatures. It's why I only run a single Path to Exile, and no Swords to Plowshares anymore.

Also, bear in mind that seeing both hands gives you information the players don't have. A large part of the appeal of Magic is in the hidden information. Take that away and suddenly the game becomes a lot more straightforward.

I was playing against the AI (google MtG Forge), and seeing the other decks I think the packs were just particularly dry. My second draft went a bit better (Skeletal Vampire rules), though there's still a lot of chaff in the boosters. It's funny to see how drastically they cut back on garbage...

I never disputed that. I agree that a control magic effect it is way less awkard timing wise than a counterspell, especially an expensive one. Except you don't need to keep up mana, because it's way less awkward timing wise, and it makes any creature into a credible threat (well, not the 1/1's...

Draining Whelk is one of my favorite Magic cards. It was pretty good in my Awakening deck ;) I think there's a lot of difference between a counterspell and a control magic effect though.

Yeah, stasis cell was bad. I had a Szadek in my sideboard, but no way to make the {u}{b} the core of my deck to support the double mana symbols in both colors. Still went 3-0 against the AI though. Turns out my creatures were fairly beefy for the format. Only things that really scared me were...

You'ld be surprised what doubling up mana symbols can do to balance your cards. I agree with Suicufnoc though that that pinger should have an activation cost. I kinda like the {u}{r} cost on Jeskai Assassin though, if only because it cements "spells matter" as a theme in those colors, whereas...
