That is true. But players gain new cards between each round and they gain a lot more than the one card that gets banned. Sometimes we go with 2 lands + 7 spells. Other times we go with 15 random cards (spells/lands). The Sol Ring always gets banned but the Sword of Fire and Ice + Stoneforge...
