Counterspell is kind of in a strange spot where it's almost worse to cast it on turn 2 because you would rather cast something like Mana Leak that is going to run out of utility later in the game. So I don't think the double blue requirement is all that bad at all - even if you don't cast it...

I kind of like the story being focused around the planeswalkers as it allows diverse worlds whilst still having a common thread of familiarity. The only thing that worries me is that standard from now on is going to be all about my planeswalkers facing down their planeswalkers in every match...

Strangely, looking through our decks it doesn't look like anyone apart from me was playing red, and for me it was just a splash. I think yan had some red in his 5cc deck too? I do remember seeing very late Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning, which I thought was unusual.

I'm running Sidisi, Maelstrom Wanderer, Jeskai Ascendancy and I moved Wild Nacatl to the gold section as well.

Oh, there were quite a few I'd forgotten about. Perhaps what I was thinking was it kills every common creature except for a few that you have to jump through hoops to get - I think of those you pointed out, only Gorehorn Minotaurs would be a 5/5 on turn 6 or 7 when you cast Wildfire, followed...

It's worth noting that in MM2 Wildfire kills almost every nonrare creature and every common creature (I think), which might make it particularly good.

I've been looking through this and whilst it's not something I usually notice all that much, some of the flavour text is just awful. I already pointed out Oath of Chandra, but I'm only down to blue so far and Ancient Crab and Unity of Purpose are both just so clunky. Oh, not to mention...

I don't think I've ever seen a Master Quest run, so I'm looking forward to that. Banjo Kazooie is one of my favourites as well but I actually don't think it makes a great speed game.
