I'm likely out on anything that references a Mutagen token since it's going to be a set specific token and not evergreen like Clues or Treasures, but there are a number of cool designs I'm interested in trying out from what we've seen: These could all just be Magic cards; there isn't...

I've been running Siege Veteran for years and while this is probably an upgrade, I think that card is just cleaner to play with. Not really feeling the flavor text of this one. Two +1/+1 counters is pretty pushed, did they really need to upgrade that ability so highly? Guess it really depends on...

This set will very much come down to art for me. If it isn't so egregious or cartoon-y that it feels overwhelming then I'm down to include whatever as long as it improves the gameplay and/or fills a need. This also extends to regular Magic cards; not a fan of any of the team-up cards they...

My friends and I did a prerelease at home with kits from the store and playing some round robin between us over the weekend. I ended up with a decent pool that was able to put together a solid Abzan Kithkin deck: Twos 1 Surly Farrier 1 Great Forest Druid 1 Feisty Spikeling 1 Thoughtweft...

It's a small list for inclusion, but I could see all of these sticking around for a long time to come: We already had the discussion about Moonshadow and the various ways you could consistently turn this into a threat, but this is probably my favorite card spoiled from the entire set. I loved...

The new Evoke cycle of elementals is pretty sweet, Vibrance and Wistfulness are both definitely getting runs in my environment. Love all the effects available to both of them. Great time to bring in the combo of: Nissa, Resurgent Animist Up The Beanstalk For Nissa, Resurgent Animist...

I'm reworking a slight self-discard archetype into my environment and Moon Shadow is a straight banger for it: I don't really like -1/-1 counters in general for an environment that has +1/+1 counters, but I think this synergizes with enough things that it might be worth inclusion. I'm...

I'm not sure if you can reach the critical mass with interactivity in green at a higher power level outside of certain Constructed formats so I think the best option is to focus on what should define a given G/x deck within your environment. For myself a mono-green deck should still be looking...

I'm late on the revisit because of a busy few weeks, but I'd like to keep this going with Duskmourn next. It looks like a little over a year ago my initial inclusions from the set were: Toby, Beastie Befriender Overlord of the Mistmoors Overlord of the Floodpits Overlord of the Balemurk...

Highly recommend taking a Saturday afternoon to sort through piles of stuff for buylisting. I do it like twice a year and can often trade into some big stuff at the local shop near me via store credit (which is a decent sized online retailer as well). So many random cards that buylist for $5-7...

Fair, I usually try to keep to a budget with early pick-ups as well. So much in the set drops, but there are definitely some good deals to be had on something like eBay if you can keep an eye out. I'm definitely going to be waiting on Badgermole Cub and Wan Shi Tong, Librarian with their...

Also picking up a copy of this guy: Wan Shi Tong, All-Knowing Didn't really notice it on first scan through the set, but the bigger version of the owl is in the supplemental TLE product. I like having some version of big 5 mana flyers in my cube (just brought back Glorybringer for the first...

With each set I have fewer and fewer flex slots to work with, so there's only a few left now after we've gotten so many sets this year. However, this set has a really high amount of cards that serve to subtly interact with your opponent that are my favorite for inclusion in cube. The more...

Mostly just to emulate an effect that can't be recreated otherwise or to boost certain archetypes with a cornerstone piece. I've been pretty picky with mine over the years but I'll modify it once in a while if something isn't performing right or if the expected deck just never comes together...

A bit late with a busy few weeks, but I'm hopping on board as well:

This card is awesome. Bleeding more artifact support into Black is always nice and tying the generation after ETB to attacks makes it so that you're likely to not just clog the board with a 2/3 back on defense the entire time (though it can play that role until shifting into the later game)...

Cool, WoTC should have just taken over management the format once they started creating products for it officially. Would have saved a lot of headache for everyone and we wouldn't have these dumbass half measures and solutions that they've tried to implement over the past few years which have...

Cool video by Caleb Gannon on his approach to drafting Vintage Cube. I've been watching a lot of his stuff recently just to get a glimpse of that environment and there are some cool ideas he dives into here that seem like a nice benchmark when evaluating design for higher power levels like this...

Super Shredder is nuts. Menace is such an underrated keyword in general and being able to grow this to a 3/3 or 4/4 consistently is going to lead to it dealing a lot of damage early and often. Sunset Saboteur has been a house in certain aggressive decks and this just seems like an even stronger...

I'm likely skipping out on adds to my cube with the next two UB sets (too far gone for me art and flavor-wise), but ECL is already pretty exciting with the new designs. I'm saving a slot for Formidable Speaker; it's everything I've wanted as a creature tutor and can set up some awesome lines...
