I feel like Falkenrath still fills that niche as the B/R finisher of choice with the haste and evasion stapled on. Being able to put in a hasty 4-5 damage while curving out, especially after setting up engines for reach ala Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat, is so big to that death by a...

This seller sucks. At least apologize for not following through on the request and putting it off for months. Like yeah, it's unfortunate that your dog died, but that has nothing to do with the job you were paid to complete. Four months ago. Unfortunately not much you can do or and it doesn't...

I have finally finished my playthrough of Elden Ring. Took my time with it after that initial launch weekend and spent a lot of time just finishing up as many side quests as I could while advancing through the story. Clocked about 165ish hours by the end. This was simply the best game I've ever...

Card seems great for Aggressive R/B decks, I'm not as sold on it as a generically powerful walker which is why I like it as a gold inclusion in my cube. You really need to be able to continue applying pressure through other means if you play this on curve. 4 damage isn't chump change, but it's...

Yes, I'm in full agreement that value condensation is the biggest issue with Magic design nowadays. There is just so much bang for your buck when it comes to individual cards. The pendulum has swung so far in the direction of easily generating value just for doing things that you'd already want...

Otherwise it would fall off once the enchanted creature or planeswalker turns into a Clue.

I think edict wise I'm down to the following: Liliana of the Veil Ranke, Master of Pranks Braids, Cabal Minion Innocent Blood Chainer's Edict Including Stax pieces just because they fit the mold despite not being straight up removal. I still like all these effects for their various utility...

I'm sure there will be a few others that crop up with stories in coming weeks, but I've only got one main cube inclusion for now: I've found defining the differences between blends of Aggro to be a little challenging over the years, but I think I'm finally getting to the point where you can...

Hmm, I guess it really depends on where you feel the gaps are in an aggressive B/x archetype nowadays. This does give some additional options and can certainly accrue value after something like a wrath, but I'm unsure of whether it's all that necessary nowadays with the plethora of options we've...

Unironically yeah, this would be super sick in EDH. Blue Sun's Zenith eat your heart out.

As someone who plays a lot of EDH, arguably my most played format over the years, while there are complex scenarios that can arise in a game I'd say that the majority of individual cards aren't particularly complex. Doesn't apply to weird niche cards, but "staples" that see a lot of play across...

Not for invested players who have been around, but I can't imagine getting into Magic nowadays as a new player. There is just way too much to process in a normal set.

Yeah this set is a mess to read through on first glance. There are a handful of cool designs, but the vast majority of it feels like a very busy set. It feels Strixhaven-y to me which isn't particularly encouraging.

Wait, you're right. I misread it completely. I still don't think it's great because that's a strange condition but I guess it's not the worst. More cute than good. Having to still pay for the initial creature, 1 to sac, and then pay again to actually cast the new creature makes this a mostly...

This is terrible. Like realistically this is usually going to get a 3 drop saccing a 2 color creature, rarely a 4 drop saccing a tri-color creature. This is mostly a brick unless you've somehow assembled 5 color stuff and even then how many silver bullet type cards do you have for this? Worst of...

Read the synopsis of Thor 2 instead of viewing, that movie is absolute butt.

I rotate a couple of different podcasts on a weekly basis depending what I'm feeling. I work a job that consists of a lot of concurrent projects and working on the computer pretty much day in and day out so I tend to go through a looooot of podcasts and music. Sometimes I'll save a few episodes...

Is this a spam ad on a buried spam thread? Is this Skynet taking over in real time?

Nice, completed tri-cycles for my tri-colored gold cards. No more Crumbling Necropolis for Kess drafters! Might also try out Aminatou, the Fateshifter since I've retired the EDH deck and have a copy lying around.

I just spent most of the last 3 days playing Elden Ring. I had it delivered on Friday but didn't get around to it until about 10PM since I wanted to finish up the very last bit of Demon's Souls beforehand since I knew I wouldn't get back to it in the near future. Booted it up and planned to play...
