The upside of Shard/Portal is, that they're much less narrow, cause they can bounce opposing creatures and also save your creatures from dying in response to combat or removal. Closet is only good, when you really support the archetype with many targets.

Depends on your 4-drop targets I'd say, and on the speed of your meta. If it has enough impact the turn it lands, Closet could be fine as a tempo curvetop

But I would expect it to be more like a 5-mana 7/7 on average, based on my experience how the artifact deck plays in my cube. And it has nice synergies with some other role players Marionette Master Treasure Map Trading Post And I could imagine, wildfire likes it too

Oh, I got one myself. Could this one be a great payoff for an artifact midrange deck in a low powered Dimir section? Deadeye Plunderers They should never be smaller than 5/5 in that deck and the activated ability is pushing all the other cards that also care about artifacts.

One with nature seems not bad though. But I think Keen Sense and/or Sixth Sense could just be better most of the time, because they can draw you business cards and require far lass shuffeling.

If my 2-drop eats a removal spell, I'd be pretty okay with it most of the time. The same could happen to young pyro or baby jace, so that's not what makes a spells matter 2-drop bad I guess. To be fair, quite a few of my payoffs would be a little weaker in your list, or not? I'd say yours is...

Depends on how much weihght your payoffs can carry I would say. In my meta, a big Rise from the Tides or a Talrand or Charmbreaker Devils, if they survive a few turns, can usually win a game on their own (with spells obviously). Just from my mind, I would say I'd like to have around 13-16...

Don't forget white/blue skies! Picking all the fliers and calling it a deck might be the oldest draft archetype in mtg history :D

What are you're thought on spells matter future sight? Precognition Field Looks like it would be able to generate lots of CA in any deck with 13+ instants/sorceries. Also exiling top deck lands or unneeded stuff in the late game is not bad either.
