Omg, you are a master of scryfall search. It never occured to me, that I could look for (A or B) + C ... That being said, Charnel Troll and Uurg don't really fulfil the same roll, primarily they don't give you a sac outlet. And I don't like Skyfisher Spiders design, the lifegain ability feels...

Varolz, the Scar-Striped How powerful is this guy? I like that he connects the selfmill and sacrifice themes that can found in these colors. But free regeneration makes me a little anxious. So I would like to know how oppressive he is when a deck can't remove him, how easily/fast he can swing a...

More than most cards in the set. It's a fresh design that hasn't been done before, yet only using basic mtg mechanics and simply elegant at it. That being said, it's pretty low powered still I feel like. Like, I wouldn't be crazy about it if it just cantripped. EDIT: Make it +2 toughness and...

Gleeful Demolition That's the only card I'm confident I will at least try out, somehow. This set really wasn't made for my cube: - I have zero interest in any cards with the words 'toxic', 'corrupted' or 'proliferate' on them - Oil cards seem in many cases to be designed with proliferate or oil...

Like Mapi. It's possible to comprehend relatively easily, but it will be very beginner unfriendly in play I assume.

That card seems like a total nightmare to process in paper, especially when both players have to track how often the last ability has been activated and on which creatures. I loathe that design.

I wonder where all the For Mirrodin! cards are. I'm not interested in any toxic or corrupted cards and most oil cards seem to be designed with a proliferate rich environment in mind. That being said, I'm excited to draft ONE. It feels very different, but in a cool way.

My gut says better than Cutthroat, worse than Blood Artist. I've just seen the latter draining like 5 in one turn too often.

I've just read your post in your cube thread about what you've learned from CubeCon, and I totally get where you are coming from. My cube is probably among the lesser complex ones already, even compared just with other riptiders. And I want to keep it that way. That being said, if there is any...

Note to myself: Finally occupy a copy of Blood Fountain the next time I update my cube.

Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if I would add this before I'd add Blood Fountain.

Actually, this very helpful conversation makes me want to try Lagomos. Unlike Juri, he provides (and endless stream of) on part of the A+B combination a sac deck needs to work. Also triggers all the support cards with death triggers like Zulaport Cutthroat etc. Yes he's a bit wordy and...

But isn't Mayhem Devil the same kind of supporting payoff like Juri? Just stronger? And I feel like the Devil would be too sick triggering of boh players Prismatic Vistas. Slaughter-Priest on the other hand has proven a little too clunky when tested.

Finally a card that really speaks to me. Grind forever! With enough treasure/clue/food production, I could even see this at slightly higher power levels than where I'm at. While I would love to loop this with Marionette Master and a nice sac outlet, I don't think it will make in. I assume Quest...

Why is that?

Lagomos, Hand of Hatred Juri, Master of the Revue I thought I would prefer Lagomos as an enabler over Juri as a payoff for sacrificing. But then I remembered I'm running 18 Prismatic Vistas ...

Cube Hit: Artifact Themes Scrapwork Mutt Patchwork Automaton Between Kamigawa and the Brother's War we got a bunch of cool artifacts and worthy payoffs as well. It seems that this years options finally let me flesh out the archetype in a way I've always wanted: nonparasitic. You CAN go all...

Because it is an open ended multi-synergy card in a decent value package that impulse draws cards, while also being wordy and introducing unique counters and tokens?

Charring Spawner Creature - Phyrexian Beast When ~ enters the battlefield, creature a 1/1 red Phyrexian Goblin creature token. Whenever another creature or artifact you control is put into the graveyard from play, put an oil counter on ~. Remove three oil counters from ~: Exile the top card of...

Finally we get some really cool designs in. This one is great, because it's, almost like Gleeful Demolition, a modal card without a list. It can safe your important creature for just one mana, win a combat in the midgame or be a finishing move in the late game. Sweet.
