Alvoi's Cube

Thank you very much again!

And yeah, if you have enough eggs, you can add the combo elements with Second Sunrise and Faith's Reward. I personally would like lands and creature sacrifice too if adding those to make them less narrow.

Yeah, my only worry is to not have enough artifacts; I basically had only 5-6 in mind before your post, now I added some more to my rough list, but a lot of them feel a bit narrow and only there because of the eggs-like archetype. I wouldn't want it to be too much detached from the rest...

I was thinking of Karmic Guide + Reveillark. Body Double. Saffi Eriksdotter. Metamorphosis Fanatic. I have a whole post kind of ready regarding these combos I can share if you'd like.

Oh yes, please do! Crypt Champion as well, if I recall correctly

If you have specific archetypes in mind that could narrow down the range of cards to suggest!

I was roughly thinking W/G tokens, W/B aristocrats, W/R cycling and W/U still no idea, but I wanted almost all of the cards to be at least playable in most decks, since the main goal is to have an open-ended environment with a lot of replayability, and not much drafting on rails

Combo nonsense

For context, I was trying to see if I could optimize the amount of combo overlap between a few notorious combo cards, so I tried different combinations and here is where I ended up using this subset of cards. Note that this takes for granted that you have a free sacrifice outlet!

This was for my higher powered environment, so Body Double and Crypt Champion weren't included. Body Launderer is another one that has some overlap that I'll try to touch upon.

With three cards, the most amount of combos you can get are 3, with multiple option. With 4 cards, you can get 5 combos, also with some choices. The best you can do is 8 combos with 5 cards and that is a unique setup. You have 3 different setups with 6 cards, each giving you 10 combos. If you include all 7 cards, you have 13 combos.

That is a lot of information to parse, so let's try and break it down!

Three card combinations - 3 combos

If I am going with only three cards, there are three options that stand out to me, each card combos with the others.

This allows you to stay in Mono-White, but the curve is quite high on these combos.

Here you go Selesnya and have the advantage of lowering the mana value of a card

This setup brings you into Orzhov with no multicolored slots used. Fiend Hunter has the advantage of being decent interaction, so doesn't feel like a dedicated slot.

Here you have the 5 drop special, but each card is solid and you have the start of a Azorius GY reanimation deck.

Four card combinations - 5 combos

If I use four cards, I have to branch out of mono-coloured. In these configurations, two cards don't combo together, but do so with the others.

Another GW package that uses a multicolored slot.

This is a neat Orzhov package that has a lower curve if Fanatic gets Miracled.

If you include Crypt Champion, you go down to 4 combos and have two options

or

You could also stick to 2 colors and have the start of a Orzhov reanimator package. The danger here is that Fiend Hunter is the hub and is at risk of being snagged by other drafters.

Five card combinations - 8 combos

For this combination, we have to delve into 3 colors.

If we include some of the other cards, this combination also gets us 8 combos

That is across 4 colors, which could be a plus if you are happy with your white combos being broad throughout the cube.

Six card combinations - 10 combos

Same package as above, but you add either Fiend Hunter or Sun Titan. For the Body Double package, you can also add Fiend Hunter or Body Launderer. to reach 10 combos.

So that's what I've got. I like the Reveillark, Karmic Guide and Body Double package best I think if you include three cards as they all combo together. You were looking for a direction to go in with UW, could be the start of something. If I wanted one more card, I would add Saffi Eriskdotter to give me 5/6 combo potential (Saffi and Body don't work).
