Card/Deck Blue Card Draw

Can you imagine how sweet Treasure Cruise in R/B would have been? As is it's just bogus.

Anyway I really thing the natural fight between Delve(/other graveyard mechanic) graveyard velocity and Devotion(/ other permanent mechnic) is becoming apparent and I hope people are aware of this, because it gives you a lot of room to develop interesting cubes where certain cards might be more or less powerful than usual.

I've made like a million cards like that on mtgs lol.
I feel like it needs some work, that instant speed is pretty nuts, but if it's removing two cards for every delve activation my main issue with it is clunky confusion and not value.

I really like that you've got a lot of options in your blue section depending on which archetypes you want to support super hard.
  • It's my opinion that if you want delve bombs to be strong you don't want to be cutting cantrips for them, you want to find other slots.
  • I really like Foresee, but I don't like how it doesn't provide a permanent at sorcery speed while also not contributing much to the graveyard. It digs really deep though, like a more stable dig through time.
  • Compulsive Research and Thirst for Knowledge make up something like a middle of the road to me and are the basis of a lot of good cube decks if you aren't putting a lot of value on board velocity. Mulldrifter can easily be rammed in there too but it plays for both teams.
  • If you value both board velocity and graveyard garbage, cantrips in the 1-2 cost are going to fill your grave up while giving you room to cast more spells. You don't have as much choice with what exactly your grave has it in through and if you want card advantage you'll only be using those sifts to enable it later. It's nice if you want card advantage to be unlocked but then you are also putting a lot of emphasis on blue for digging.
  • Big plays like Opportunity, Sphinx's Revelation and in some cases Treasure Cruise sometimes feel like awkward cube inclusions to me because they aren't available to help you get on your feet.
  • Be careful about how much situational card advantage you are including if you are expecting people to be leaning on blue for sifting and refilling hands. Even cards like Snapcaster Mage, blue walkers and Cryptic Command can feel pretty damn situational and not as easy for your drafter to rely on in the wrong environment as you'd like. I'm not saying cut these cards, they don't do what you think, I'm saying, you shouldn't necessarily treat them as pips on your draw spell list.
