I like the nitpicky comments. Since when are a worse version of Maelstrom Pulse, a slightly better flame slash or Captain's Call 4 mana effects? The larger point that all of those cards cost more then the effect they produce, seems to be lost.

(Note for nitpickers: I realize that Captain's Call costs 4 mana. The joke here is that no one ever plays the card because the effect isn't worth 4 mana)

A friend of mine has suggested including cards such as Boros Garrison as support for aggro archetypes. At first this seems counterintuitive, but his reasoning is that it allows you to run one fewer land and thereby gain virtual card advantage. He argues that the possible tempo loss by playing a bounceland is made up for by the fact that your curve should be low enough to still play threats in the meantime. I'm not sure what to think of that.

There were red aggro decks doing that during Rav Standard, using bouncelands to play 4-drops like Giant Solifuge consistently and fuelling late-game Demonfires.

In Limited though, bouncelands only really help aggro decks insofar as they can blow them up when the opponent plays them.

ETA: If you emulate our fuhrer and run multiple Steppe Lynxes, obv they get a lot better.

I think the key to generating high article comment counts is to have one innocuous statement that can be nitpicked and debated. Intentionally say something that is only partially correct.
