Jace has set the multiverse afoul in his quest to remake the world in his image. The result? Some sick Cube cards.

I think the set has a ton of exciting, simple, and evocative cards that come as a breath of fresh air in a year saturated with Universes Beyond sets. Still, this set has an obscene amount of Legends thanks to the mirrored pair slot in the back of every booster, so it's not old fashioned Magic by any stretch. The commander product is probably the least compelling for the typical Riptider as well, since the polymorph-focus of the set's only EDH deck is truly tuned for the multiplayer experience.

What cards are you all most interested in for this set? Which cards are you planning to play and test? Share them here!

For my 720-card mostly-fair Cube, The California Premiership, I'm planning to run 25 cards, which is slightly above normal but not by any strange amount considering how much I like to rotate things in and out.

Jace's Darlings
Multiversal marvels that will stand the test of time.

In years, these are the three cards I expect to still be playing pretty much no matter what, and to be playing very happily.

In mid-powered Cubes, Lyra, Tolarian Archangel is very easy to trigger on a regular basis, and makes for an exhilarating one-card build-around that feels satisfyingly powerful yet fair. I've had great success in practice drafts online pairing her with looters like Katara, Waterbending Master and Kiora, the Rising Tide who generally can trigger her on their own, not to mention cards like Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Leader, Super-Genius, Occult Epiphany, Dack Fayden, Arcane Denial, and, of course, draw spells. I've found it very easy to construct decks around Lyra in practice, as you can see here, here, and here, to name a few.

Way of the Pyromancer is the first 2mv walker that's easy to justify in almost any Cube willing to have a token planeswalker. If it were printed as a PW card rather than an enchantment, I imagine this would be the set's most popular Cube card. I like a good Big Red deck, and a card like this that either ramps, surveils, or draws is everything you'd want out of your mana rock. Having the floor of either a Fire Diamond that comes in untapped is a great place to start, and you can cash it out for a card the very next turn. Great art, too.

Proft, Sinister Mastermind is the shining representation of the Unearth era of my Cube. A powerful split card guides your drafters to fill up their yards, Proft serves as a perfectly fine removal spell that triggers your Marauding Makos and Intis while trading for another card, only for the Moriarty rip-off to drop the next turn as a 5/5 thanks to one of Cube's increasingly-ubiquitous tiny reanimator spells like the previously mentioned Unearth. When I see a card like Proft, what I see is a Cube card, and it makes me so giddy to play him.

The next set of darlings are good inclusions, but just a half-tier down from my favorites of the set.

Liliana the Faultless is a more fair version of Mom + a more fair version of a Soul Warden. The outcome is a 1mv legend that serves multiple decks in multiple ways, and doesn't accelerate the aggro decks more than I'm comfortable with. Truly a delight.

Chandra, Chill of Compliance is a 3mv walker that plays like a 4mv one, with card advantage galore and a generous four abilities. She's been excellent in early sample drafts and testing, and feels like a truly modern walker in an era when their number is quickly dropping from Cubes.

Similarly, Garruk, Curse Breaker is a beast of a man. Card advantage + dudes makes for a beast of a Planeswalker, even if it's going to often feel like a split card containing Overrun and Owlbear, both of which are reasonably strong cards on their own.

I'm a little surprised I put Karn, Argent Defender in this category, but I found that I love this effect on a colorless creature even more than I could've imagined, especially with all the support I've recently added for artifact creatures like Steel Overseer, Iron Spider, Stark Upgrade, and Chrome Dome. I also like that it's Karn! Karn is great! It's like the opposite of my emotions when I added my fourth Spider-Man variant.

Loot & the Keys to Some Things
Replacement-level cards and other interesting novelties

Repurposed Enforcer is a great card advantage engine that does for token decks what I had hoped Belladonna Took would have.

Prophesied End is a tier 2 piece of removal that's very clean and easy to appreciate from a a design perspective. I think it'll play out a little better than Fateful Absence on average, and even if it doesn't, it feels totally reasonable.

Seasoned Cryomancer is excellent. It's easy to compare to other cards, so you'll know if you want it or not, and I'm one of the people who does. I like it around the same as Kiora, the Rising Tide and slightly more than Jadzi, Steward of Fate and Steamcore Scholar, so it should last at least a little while in my Cube even with the double pips.

Sphinx of False Conclusions is the blue flashing flier I've been looking for, and one that can be used as a combat trick on its first life to trade with an attacker, still leaving behind an impressive threat. Maybe the most underrated card of spoiler season so far that doesn't evoke Jace's name.

Jace's Machinations is maybe not quite good enough, but I do like a Quick Study with upside, and this seems fun.

Multiply by Zero is cool removal. I actually like that it's not as effective against +1/+1 counters and equipment, as it will subtly boost those strategies to have a strong piece of removal not quite get there for those. It also reads well and will excite drafters.

Liliana the Repentant is a card I should've been more excited about at first. It's a self-mill QUEEN, plus a reanimator card. I've always been surprisingly disappointed with similar cards like Valgavoth's Faithful, Quest for the Necropolis, and Apprentice Necromancer, cards that I thought made up for their lower raw power level with their cost. But the issue is that if I'm going to get a B-tier reanimation spell for cheap, I want it to do more than just reanimate, or else you feel like you're wholly worse off than the guy who got a proper Reanimate.

Darklight Phoenix is one of my favorite cards of the set, and maybe just what I needed to give aristocrats the boost they need. I do fear that it'll be too much like Vengevine in that it's an incredibly sweet design that seems to always get picked 15th, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Garruk, Veiled Butcher reminds me of Custodi Lich as a piece of removal, a big dude, and a card engine all in one. I think the play pattern here is better, though, and I'm excited to play with another big black walker.

Vraska's Final Mercy is a split card of a removal spell and a Sign in Blood that I hope will be understood as such by my drafters, as it's a great effect that will go further than the sum of its parts would suggest.

Marwyn, the Clearcutter is the card that finally got me to remove my longtime favorite Zurgo Bellstriker, to just emphasize how special this card is. Trading out your trinkets and lands for new cards when your Savannah Lions no longer has good attacks seems like a great option for a 1-drop that triggers Yoshimaru.

Samut, Hazoret's Champion is the Fires card we all would've killed for a few years ago, but I think will still do good work. Love such a clean card, too.

The Echoverse Fulcrum is a 2mv artifact that loots and clears the board. What's not to like?

Ginger, Queen of Sweets feels like a fun one-off Monarch card worth supporting. Will she stick around? Probably not, but she really doesn't seem to be too far off.

Proctor of Potential has already been sweet in testing, and I love a good surveil.

Theorix Charm has been consistently exciting in a way other Dimir experiments have not.

Only in a Mirror Universe
Cards I'm testing or paying attention to, but are not too likely to stick around as I see them now.

Lots of great cards this set!!!

This was my most anticipated set of the entire year and it has lived up to the hype. Time Spiral 2/Modern Horizons 4 love-child with a bunch of interesting designs and callbacks perfect for my environment. There will definitely be more as testing results come in across the web, but this is my current shortlist for definite inclusions:

Really cool design. Soul Warden and its variants haven't really been in my cube for a long time now, but this has enough extra juice between the legendary subtype and Mom-lite protection via discard that it's pretty appealing. I've currently got The Duke, Rebel Sentry as my 3rd version of protection for W/x decks so I'll give this a spin and see how it feels. Incidental lifegain is always a nice thing to have when combat is a major part of a draft environment.

More blink engines at 4 mana are always nice to see. This has always been the sweet spot in the curve for maximizing ETB triggers in my environment with impact creatures at 3 mana and big effects starting to appear at 5. This one is pretty cool in that the 2/2 body makes it tutorable via Recruiter of the Guard and Imperial Recruiter where it can easily slot into grindier W/x shells. Just creatures is definitely weaker than the busted stuff you can accomplish with Displacer Kitten, but it might still be good enough. I don't really run many white 4s so I'm willing to try this one out for a while and see if it meets expectations.

Been a huge fan of Spyro since he was first printed, this one also seems like it will slot into that everyman support role for decks. There is so much utility in this card ranging from a simple draw 2 discard 2 effect attached to a body that is blinkable, a way to slow down your opponent with stun counters for a turn before playing a wrath, or just as discard fodder that becomes 2 new cards in the late game in an especially grindy match-up. At 3 CMC it plays well with Unearth and it curves right into a Teleportation Circle or Displacer Kitten (or the new dog version!). Just a really versatile card that will fit into many different decks.

This is a JTMS for the modern era of Magic design.

It does everything I'd want out of of a control oriented walker by passively drawing cards, having two modes to protect itself with a +1 to make blockers on the ground or a -2 to bounce bigger evasive problems away. I remember back in the day where playing a game going back-and-forth at parity was a tight race with removal and creature trading back before a Jace, the Mind Sculptor could come down and grind out that big advantage. This seems like it could be equally as powerful as a follow-up play to a wrath or if you've kept the board relatively clear with 1-for-1 removal before curving into it. Even just dying on the next turn with your opponent having to use a removal spell puts you up a card with the passive ability. Great art and a powerful yet fair walker, easy include for me.

I'm a sucker for recursive creatures and being able to maximize their value is one of my favorite things to draft in cube. My most recent duplicate voucher iteration brought in Marauding Mako, Vengevine, and Hollow One which brought a whole new archetype into my cube with a port of Modern Hollowvine possible (and a drafter accomplished this in the first cube session). This is the type of card that makes me go back to my cube binder and re-evaluate cards that I've taken out in the past or thing of how to push card interactions further.

This obviously plays well with recursion after a wrath effect if you had looted it away earlier in the game. Cards like Accursed Marauder and Fleshbag Marauder gain additional value beyond the Gravecrawler synergy. This in turn bumps up the value of something like Unearth which can recur edicts on a stick which in turn trigger the Phoenix. A card like Deadly Precision becomes playable once it comes attached with a 3/2 hasty flyer at the beginning of combat. Branching out of black gets you looking at a card like Gau, Feral Youth and the end step ability to burn someone's face for extra reach or Stadium Headliner as an on-board trick.

Lots of possibilities with this one, might even make its way into my duplicate voucher system depending on how it plays out over the next year.

Kind of a banger for a last day reveal. A global haste anthem makes for some incredibly aggressive lines in something like an R/G monsters deck where you could straight up have a curve of T2 Samut, T3 Surrak, Elusive Hunter, T4 Bristlebud Farmer or Flametongue Kavu. Simple on the surface, but pair this alongside any sort of minor reanimation or way to get multiple bodies on the field ala Titania, Protector of Argoth + 5/3 buddy and you can hit like a truck out of nowhere. R/W Aggro can go kind of nuts punishing a durdly opponent with a T3 Adeline, Resplendent Cathar or classic Goblin Rabblemaster ready to just crash in for a ton of damage. You could have some pretty fun lines in an R/B Sacggro deck if you get to break parity with the aforementioned edict Zombies and Gravecrawler recursion to keep the board clear and pressure up. Cool card.

Literally just a green Solemn Simulacrum, but 3 mana and with a relevant creature type makes this much more appealing. A T2 ramp spell that will replace itself with a card upon death and lets me jump with greater consistency to a 5 drop on T3 with a dork into this. This plays very well alongside Flare of Cultivation and can even set up a big wombo-combo Tifa Lockhart turn right on curve going T2 Tifa, T3 Fetch into Shaper into Flare, swing for 16 off 4 land drops. That's the kind of dream I'd like my drafters to have.

It's simple, clean, and very easy to understand while allowing green to search as the base for any multicolor decks my drafters might want to explore.

Very cool ramp/reanimation target. I like that it can create consistency in your ramp plan by turning a land into a Temple of the False God minus the restriction and then branch into being a finisher on its own. A powerful ward ability to protect itself while being a 12/12 Flampler that will end the game quickly if it gets to stick around. Being a colorless ten drop makes it a possible super-ramp target off a Nissa, Who Shakes the World or in an RG Monsters build exploding off a Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary or Disciple of Rhonas.

I would say that this set as a whole doesn't really change any of my existing archetypes I have for my cube, but most serves as a super supplementary set to branch between them and make the foundation stronger in the long run. It's what we get with most Horizon sets that fill in a lot of holes and provide options to beef up archetypes that aren't quite there. In general I like cards that are simple on the surface but have a lot of depth to them once you introduce other synergies and interactions without having to warp existing strategies.

This set as a whole is perfect for that and I'm looking forward to seeing how these new cards perform in the coming months.

29 cards. What a banger set with some awesome art. Appreciate it mechanically too. I think 'empower Jace' is being slept on, it is an incredible bridge between enchantments and planeswalkers that also creates some sweet combo finishers. Supporting Super-Friends is finally getting interesting for cube.

Overall I think this set has cemented that some weirdo at WoTC wants Enduring Renewal / Aluren / Persist / Saffi loops to have as many non-parasitic payoffs as possible in cube and xoxo to whoever that person is lol. My 1080 combo cube is more healthy than ever due to your efforts.

White:

Liliana the Faultless

Enlightened Confidant

Ajani Resolute - With all of the 'Create an extra token' effects coming out I think spamming Ajani's Pridemates is gonna get pretty good pretty quick

Loyal Tutor

Way of the Mentor - Such a cool Lifegain Draw Engine / Combo enabler all in one.

Blue:

Fblthp, Impossibly Lost - The coolest Labman effect out there, need the redundancy but very happy to include this otherwise

Geist of Saint Thalia - Amazing. Perfection. No notes.

Divining Duelist

Variable Chaser - A lot of good 3-drops announced, although I love Seasoned Cryomancer, it is a lot less unique of an effect in Blue than Red. Variable is the more interesting card for me.

The Theorist, Jace Beleren

Black:

Liliana the Repentant - I really wish she milled on ETB but she is a really good 2-drop as is so it is fine. Self-mill engine for loops.

Darklight Phoenix - Amazing. Perfection. No notes.

Way of the Necromancer - Amazing. Perfection. No notes.

Red:

Marwyn, the Clearcutter

Samut, Hazoret's Champion - Fucking R.I.P Lightning Mauler

Stingcaster Mage

Pyre Rhymer

Ajani's Anguish - A really cool Prowess / Stompy support piece. Always in the market for good spells that also win the game with infinite mana.

Way of the Pyromancer

Green:

Carnivorous Cultivator

Pia, Aether Ascetic - I have a huge Green Enchantment section, a lot of which support combos. Pia is an amazing include I never saw coming.

Garruk, Curse Breaker

Puppet Crafting

Way of the Paradox

Colorless:

The Echoverse Fulcrum

Multicolored:

Theorix Charm

Stingerquill Charm

Stinging Vitriol

Mabel, Valley Hero - In contention for my favorite card art, growing up near the beach I have a softness for stunning sunsets and I love the colors used here. An amazing Persist / Creature Loop enabler / Payoff.

This set has so many more cool cards than I expected. My cube is at a spot where I can’t fit all of the cards that I like, so I’m flip-flopping over which to prioritize.

Slam dunk

My cube has heavy mill, discard and sacrifice support ranging various speeds of decks. Phoenix conveniently fits into most decks by virtue of triggering off your opponent’s creatures too. So a wrath effect from a control deck comes with a hasty attacker to rebound or a free blocker for future turns. Some removal also get there like Bone Shards, Accursed Marauder or an evoked Fury for example. And then you have the B/X aggro decks that are usually heavy sacrifice and/or GY/discard.
This seems like an easier to repeatedly trigger Vengevine that has broader applications.

High picks

I've been itching for an Azorius build around for some time now and none of the existing candidate did it for me. This one is cheap, uncapped and triggers off tokens and creatures entering. Surveil 1 is a lot of potential self-milling, something White tends to have trouble with. I don't think the recursion ability will trigger often, though the Surveil duals certainly help.

I haven’t even finished testing Flashback that another variant comes out. I think getting a body outweighs Flashback’s ability to hit counterspells. It’s a slight nudge in favor or aggressive decks over reactive and combo decks, but those decks already have Underworld Breach as recursion. I don't think I want three of these effects, so Flashback has to go.

My initial reaction was that this is a little too generically good for my cube where I try to promote power through synergy. Thinking on it more though, I like that it's a powerful card to latch onto early and that synergy flows from it. Especially because it's the kind of synergy that is harder to push your drafters towards. Random discard is scary, but you will tolerate it on an above rate creature. You will naturally want cards that can go to the GY and can maybe be more open to a Devastating Dreams to set up an Entomb after.

Speculative

The art is fantastic here and that definitely pulls me towards wanting to include the hydra. The card itself isn't bad either as a 2/1 for 2 that can give a teamwide buff the turn it comes into play. It can also attack and distribute counters which is a much stronger play pattern than Mikaeus, the Lunarch who has to take a turn off every time you distribute counters. The scaling is nice because I recently added Greater Good and The Great Henge, two cards that care about going tall.

I've been wanting to increase the amount of one drops in my cube and this is a prime candidate. The life gain goes well with Enduring Renewal loops and Warren Soultrader for example, but I don't have any explicit synergies there. The discard outlet mode is interesting though as White struggles with filling the GY. I don't know if the rate is there, but the effect is welcome.

I currently run Kiora, the Rising Tide and it's not clear to me which is the best fit. Being relevant from the GY is a big upside in Cryomancer's favor, but I like the play patterns of Kiora where you try and protect the queen to get a big payoff.

There are many other cards that look great, but I don't have a slot for (Flickering Hound, Geist of Saint Thalia, Koth, the Geomancer, Liliana the Repentant, Lyra, Tolarian Angel, Marwyn, the Clearcutter, Pia, Aether Asetic, Proft, Sinister Mastermind, Samut, Hazoret's Champion, Simulacrum Shaper, Tenured Tethermage and more!).

Really cool set and even though Empower Jace misses for me (though seeing the PW token, makes it more palatable), I see myself revisiting cards I missed or dismissed too early.

All are maybes so that I can reference this later.
A few red ramp options is a highlight for me.

Are we at a point where we can run a life gain deck that isn't annoying?

Will Find Space

Lot of black cards.
Manipulator is an aggressive tempo-y creature that fills your yard, very cool. Plays in a fun way with the delve cards it enables. Can be flickered for marginal benefit. I also like that you're not as pressed to play it early like with Moonshadow and Stalker.
Lich's Relic I've talked about. Removal spell you can find with Stoneforge Mystic and rebuy with Skyfisher effect makes it a cool white/black card. Red can have fun with Goblin Engineer.
Proft is an undercosted beater in the right deck that also flexes as a powerful card in BW decks that function as a mediocre removal spell that works really well with unearth effects.
Tarmogoyf is a really novel design that I want to try out as an interesting tempo creature to diversify green a bit away from just using quirion dryad style payoffs. I think it might be deceptively powerful, although I kind of wish you didn't have to count your opponent's graveyard as well.
Twinned Vision is just nice. Think Twice that triggers draw 3 and discard effects. Not much to say. Feels a bit weird in red.
Echoverse Fulcrum seems like a reasonably playable sweeper that has some synergy nodes. I wish it was slightly better to spook your opponents with, but sweepers are kind of niche in terms of what decks they go into, so I appreciate a colorless one.

Might Find Space

I'm not sure if I wanted Stingcaster Mage or Flashback yet. Stingcaster Mage works with flicker, but Flashback is an instant and doesn't have horrendous artwork that I'd need to find a replacement for.
Puppet Crafting is a fun way to utilize trinkets in a way that doesn't require you to go all-in, but the recursion still rewards you if you do.
Stinging Vitriol will probably find the space in RB once I find less demanding payoffs for playing high mana value cards than Vial Smasher.

I'm not a big fan of the set on the whole, it feels kind of fanfiction-y. There's a bunch of what-if variations of characters that exist for the purpose of existing, but they don't speak much to how the planes themselves developed differently. Jace, to my knowledge, kind of hates the guildpact, but that seems to still be intact on Ravnica. The story doesn't attempt to justify itself as having any merit, which makes it morally rather uninteresting. Jace doesn't believe in his own plan, what remains as an antagonist is a caricature of him who has lost control of his plan, and there isn't even any fake-but-hollow utiopia, this place seems just as filled with suffering as the real one, if not even moreso. It's cohesive with the message it's telling, I just think it could have a more interesting one. I'm also surprised they didn't make the set two sets, I think there's more than enough substance to justify dividing it into introducing the setting, and confronting jace. With only one set, it kind of comes out of nowhere, and is resolved just as quickly. Ideally I think it would be cool if it was introduced in the background as other known planes we visited were slightly altered in strange ways, as the alternate dimension slowly starts to overlap. It's also still unclear to me how Jace got all this power from visiting the meditation realm while Bolas has to scheme for thousands of years and the best he can come up with is invading ravnica with zombies despite being significantly more powerful.

Casual Champions Inclusions

Core

Might just be the one non-parasitic selfmill enabler I recently decided to search for in black. Sadly both versions look like shite. In general, Hexhaven has even worse aesthetics than Strixhaven. Feels half-baked and often just ugly.

Occasionals

This set's design feels a little more out there, which lends itself nicely to some cool occasionals designs. I'm especially happy about an Ajani that might actually be a great fit for my cube.

The set's a banger and it's got me cooking on all my cubes. For right now I'm heavily focused on Landfill, since it's seeing actual play and it's compatible with my current amount of disposable income. (Call your senators about daycare costs in the USA. Just kidding. They don't give a fuck and I don't want them to find out there's a toddler nearby).

Perfect Cards I Can't Wait to Get
All these cards really belong in the cube, and I'll be surprised if any of them stay expensive for very long.
Prophesied End - Good clean fun. I've been looking for an excuse to replace Swift Reckoning just because I think it's a little boring, and this one has very cool art.
Rescue Girl, First Responder - Excited to bounce my lands, prepared creatures, and all sorts of other stuff with this card.
Diviner of Victory - Prepare makes me every bit as happy as Adventure, and I want a certain density of Prepare cards because it's such a complicated mechanic. Surveil is also great in Landfill, where I tragically can't use the Explore mechanic due to its +1/+1 counters.
Variable Chaser - Very cool. Exactly the kind of thing I want you to do with Blue cards around here.
Pyre Rhymer - A new friend for Lavaleaper to play with. Might try to work in a couple more "Mountains Matter" cards, just for spice.
Void Extrapolator, Paradox Shaper, and Theorix Metamage - I'm definitely including at least two of these, depending on how my other changes affect the overall mana curve. I'm beginning to think I should explore self-mill as a dedicated win condition in Landfill.
Verdant Kraken - This card is so, so cool. Really hoping he isn't some kind of sleeper Commander staple, because this is the exact type of thing I want at the top end of my curve. Monster art from Wayne Reynolds puts this into 10/10 territory for me.
Twinned Vision - Good shit. Did a double-take at this spoiler because I designed a really similar card a couple years ago.
Primal Witchstalker - Have been wanting to replace Molderhulk for a while, just because I've cubed it a lot (although it's obviously a great fit for Landfill). This weird wolf is just what I've been looking for.

Very Cool Cards That Might Be Too Expensive
I want all these for Landfill, but I'm not alone. I think demand and prices will be high unless these are all big flops in constructed and Commander. I'll be monitoring the stonks machine closely as the situation develops. For me, the metagame of curating a budget cube is fun and entertaining. Back in my early twenties when I was just catastrophically broke, building hyper-budget Magic decks was my main hobby besides stealing apple pies from my neighbor's windowsill.
Enlightened Confidant
Sphinx of False Conlusions
Darklight Phoenix
Curse-Marred Demon
Pompous Battlemage
Carnivorous Cultivator
Roiling Canopy
Hall of Echoes

Great Cards That Might Not Find Space
These cards are cool and I think they'll be in my budget, but I'm not sure I can find cuts for them. I don't want Landfill to rotate just for the sake of rotating. I don't want to add cards in an update, then cut them in the next update without even shuffling them. Like, if they reprint Elvish Reclaimer, I'll find a way to get him in here. But otherwise, the green 1-drop creature section is pretty much locked.
Your Fate Ends Here - I kind of want to cut Cast Out for this, but it only hits creatures. Still might happen.
Perfected Theory - Right now I don't have any shrink effects in the cube, but honestly I'm more likely to run Mass Diminish. If that card had more than one printing, I'm sure it would already be in the list.
Undulating Witness - Cool card but the slot is crowded. I love these "big creature with landcycling" cards, though.
Dark Matter Manipulator - This guy is a contender. He's basically looking at Festerleech's slot, but Festerleech has the advantage of being a gross little yucky monster, which I personally like.
Koth, the Geomancer - This guy is currently on-deck as a replacement for Moraug, Fury of Akoum. I think Moraug is likely to spike in price the next time a sufficiently busted Jund Lands commander comes out.
Bestial Incursion - A very cool card, but not sure it's worth spending one of my very limited "this card makes a token" slots.
Marwyn, the Preserver - This one might make it. She'd be incredible in Landfill. If she were a regular creature and not a legend, she'd already be in the list (I have my own made-up aesthetic reasons for limiting the number of legends in my cubes).
Prudent Fateseer - I'm tempted by this guy because so far there isn't a single mono-W creature with Prepare in the cube, and none exist that are particularly on-theme for Landfill. But his spell makes a token and he doesn't have reminder text for Prepare. So he's not exactly a slam dunk.
Fatehold Chronologist - This guy has the reminder text I want, and he's a cool bird guy. But I guess I just don't find him that exciting. I might try him out just to see.
Blessed Ghoul - Cool card, and I love hybrids. Will be more appealing if I end up including Enlightened Confidant.
Eye of Jace - Very useful artifact with weird art. Wish it was called "Eye of the Theorist" or "Panoptic Pendant" or something.
Murmuring Volume - Definitely a cool card for Landfill but I'm not sure what to cut for it.
Nissa, Leyline Tamer - Excuse me, what the fuck is this card? If this one ends up in my price range I'm definitely going to get it. I'll figure out the cuts later.

Heartbreakers
Counters are illegal in Landfill. But luckily, it isn't illegal for me to cry.
Koth of the Homestead
Proctor of Potential

Obviously Awesome But Definitely Too Much $$$
I gotta play these things unsleeved, after all.
Liliana the Faultless - A fantastic discard outlet in white. I have some hope she might make her way into my price range because she's a regular Rare instead of a Mythic, but she seems really powerful.
Hexhaven Invigorator - This thing's insane and I don't think it'll ever cost much less than $30. But it does make me think I should reconsider Viridian Emissary, who is kind of like his baby brother.
Emrakul, the Exigent Doom - In a similar vein, reading this card is making me reconsider Shardless Outlander.

This was a bonkers spoiler season but I reigned myself in to a mere () cards.

Fliers:

I'm always on the lookout for dragons, angels, and 4 power fliers. I'm tentatively interested in the Sphinx but Lyra is a slam dunk home run in my judgment. The kind of card that represents, in baseball terms, one of those old records from the Negro League that should stand the test of time.

Colour-shifted stuff:

These fit into Sharzad's general planar chaos stuff and are some of the most exciting cards in the set to me. Chandra upticks into your cantrip! Samut is a check against heavy stack interaction that's not uncommon in Sharzad's list and gameplay. Stingcaster Mage is a delight, another one of those all timers that I expect will still be in my cube by 2030 (assuming I haven't bartered the Cube for drinking water or a GPU).

Fair Goodstuff:

Not much to say here. All of these are good cards, but I don't know how long they'll stay in their slots. More graveyard stuff, more stack interaction, and an interesting land that pushes the Adamant-style main-colour-plus-a-splash deckbuilding that's a backup plan for when the wheel is feeding you a pair of colours.

I'm a little disappointed to miss on the broad swathe of the Prepared cards but they were designed for retail limited, not Legacy, and as a result they're either not cheap enough or not flavourful enough (the Goblin with prowess is a key example that does all the stuff I want but which would edge out a more flavourful red aggro one-drop (Swiftspear, Steppe Horse Archer, Zurgo, etc). So fucking hyped to draft the set.
