General Is this a deck?

Is this ever a cube deck? Could it BE a deck if some of the more generally-useful stuff is in the maincube and a super-narrow enabler or two in the sidecube?

(various cards that let you search for lands)
(various black spells that make your opponent lose X life)
(cycling lands and lands that can become creatures)

loam + smokestack + piranha marsh somebody has got to pull this off. Can you dredge instead of dying when your deck is at 0?

502.47a - Dredge is a static ability that functions only while the card with dredge is in a player's graveyard. "Dredge N" means "As long as you have at least N cards in your library, if you would draw a card, you may instead put N cards from the top of your library into your graveyard and return this card from your graveyard to your hand."

Basically, you can't Dredge if you don't have at least N cards in your library, similar to how you can't pay X life unless you have X life remaining.

What you can do, and which Loam enables, is combine Academy Ruins and Mox Diamond to always put a card on top of your (empty) library (play mox diamond, choose not to discard a land, recur w/ ruins. Loam dredges both pieces into your yard and then recurs Ruins) and deck someone out that way. It's a cute way to enable prison strats in powered cubes!

Is Mox Diamond considered power? Nice idea, though - in what other decks does Academy Ruins go?

It's the most fair of the Moxen imo, and the only one I run. I don't think it's Power, those are just the cubes where I get to do that kind of thing more often. Academy Ruins goes in any deck you'd want Trading Post in, and synergizes with spellbombs, artifact creatures and graveyard strategies.
There's gotta be a black evoke creature + volrath's stronghold that would work better than academy ruins here

Shriekmaw+Stronghold every turn sounds pretty good.

Mox Diamond is great, and has lots of (okay, a few) interactions. Turn 1 Fetch, Mox Diamond, Life from the Loam is a perfectly fine start.

One of the stronger ways to use it is to put out hard-to-remove permanents. Turn 1 Bitterblossom, that sort of thing.

Either way, it's not a deck, to answer the OP. I think this type of thing can be a component of a deck, with Leechridden Swamp being interesting because of fetchability, but, it's pretty inefficient as far as closing power goes.

I was more interested in the bounceland + etb death clock + 2 lands/turn bit. I threw in leechytown because I saw it while looking for other things.

Smokestack looks very, very interesting. Almost like a "one card archetype" like Pod is?!

Oh well, my dream of picking up the utility land draft box and clonking people about the head with it may have been unrealistic.

How bout this. Is this a deck?

(with other similar cards in it)

i like to put a good card with another good card in my decks but i'm old fashioned like that.

Stromkirk Noble already has some pretty relevant evasion on him in many limited environments, I don't think waiting until turn 4 (turn 3 with a mox!) is necessary

Trained Condor might be a miss but I think some people have or do run Abzan Falconer and +1/+1 counters theme to some success.

For what it's worth you can also play it like

The idea is just to bounce things and keep stromkirk connect. The trick I think is to find these interactions with cards that other decks will also want.

In a really really low power environment (like were just making kitchen table decks) I do actually think that trained condor is an alright build around for UR and UG.
