Buried Alive is good, here also works with gravecrawler to help get it going. And Skaab Ruinator if you still want to run him still.

Intuition is great too in that deck.

You could use Squee or Krovikan Horror to get repeatable casts, but those are a little slow.

I love the idea behind dream stalker/kor skyfisher, but I need some convincing that they're good in any other circumstance

The big one over here is dash (besides the already mentioned gravecrawler, cascade, and just casting 2 cheap guys). Zurgo Bellstriker plays great and you get to make ballstriker jokes every time you cast him. Mardu Strike Leader has been good too but you need a handful of like mana dorks in your deck to reliably rebuy your vengevines with him.

For me this has been like a cool synergy you can add into a deck more than a full blown archetype.

I think the most playable variants are Emancipation Angel and Whitemane Lion. Skyfisher is a house if you have Moxen on turn one, but, uh, we generally don't. Running scrylands brings their stock up a touch but they're still awkward imo.

If you wanna stretch this out a lil I think the new Scourge of Nel Toth might be workable, since both it (and Haakon or Marang River Prowler) give you a second cast trigger out of the graveyard to actually recur those Vengevines. Dash is also huge.
