General PWs to Cut and UR spells to run

With the multi-color sections it was actually really hard to find three cards from each guild that weren't complete bullshit that could operate at a higher power level. In R/W The three most passable cards are lightning helix, figure of destiny, and boros reckoner.

Dimir is pretty bad too, but as a whole better. I would still run ashiok because she is so unique (though people here have been saying she is oppressive). Baleful strix actually does something important for a lot of UB decks, so is a reasonable include, and the khan's block dragonlords are good. Nightveil specter is probably ok too.

You get a bunch of reasonable pet card options though with: wydwen, the biting gale, silumgar's command (someone will draft it and tell themselves its good right?), notion thief, and lim-dul's vault (my favorite cube card).

I know you've been posting about notion thief for a while, so maybe its time to give it a whirl?

Friends don't let friends run Psychatog. Card is aweful in draft.

RW: Boros Reckoner
UB: Dragonlord Silumgar, Havengul Lich (Not actually convinced lich is good)

Don't know if I like forbidden alchemy much, it's hella slow and there's better ways to get stuff in your graveyard if you want, like Thirst for Knowledge and co
I feel like nightveil specter needs devotion to be good. It takes a few hits on lands to be able to cast any of the cards you hit with it, and even then a 2/3 flying finkel isn't insane.

In UB, i LOVE dragonlord sil, and like lim-dul's vault, disciple of deceit, sil's command, and dimir charm. I love modal spells tho.

In RW it's all about boros reckoner. Boros charm has some real play too.
EDit: i know im like the thousandth person but figure of destiny checks a lot of my boxes. He's hybrid, he's an aggro dude that doesnt suck as a late topdeck, he's a mana sink, and he's short and cute!

the timing restriction brings back memories of the time I cubed Cauldron Dance - so much value but ultimately too conditional.

Cauldron Dance is a really fun card, btw

where are people at vis a vis running Warleader's Helix alongside Lightning Helix? There's a few extra things it kills but otherwise we're talking a pretty redundant effect here

I like the tog, obviously he's not as insane as he was in constructed but you can still do some cool tricks with him. One of my favourite plays was attacking with tog, getting no blocks, then discarding Griselbrand to him, Makeshift Mannequinning him back and drawing my whole deck to discard for lethal.

Does this get better with 6 Brainstorms?

It gets better if UB is attacking. That may or may not be related to the number of brainstorms.
Like you could be running 20 brainstorms, he's still going to cost you life.

...and the other 99% of the time? :p

This card might be weak sauce, but a two for one and a potentially big life swing sounds like a pretty raw beating. UB control card?
My favorite memory of this card was being on 1 life against 2 dudes, passing with this up, and my opponent cracking memory jar on his first main to find redundency
I lay there, defeated: Spinal Embrace may only be cast during combat
