You've probably never heard of it: The 4-at-a-time Cube!

We are chugging along at a good clip! The cube in its current state can be found here. The mana curve for it is here.

In our previous project, the 3 cards at a time cube, the banlist was somewhat arbitrary and didn't make a lot of sense. Things that are undesirable in other formats are often fine in Cube, and vice versa.

So let's try this again, but think like hipsters: cards from the CubeTutor Top 450 list are banned. These are the 450 most frequently used cards across all of CubeTutor. This covers most of the boring staples that everyone has already seen a million times, as well as a good deal of the potentially broken nonsense.

As before, this is a collaborative cube and all are welcome to participate!

RULES:
  1. Post 4 cards of your choice.
  2. No cards that are in the CubeTutor 450.
  3. Give other people a chance to post in between your posts.
SUGGESTIONS:
  1. Maybe avoid "soulless midrange" or cards that fit your personal definition of "power max".
  2. Perhaps synergize some of your cards with cards that someone else has posted. This isn't a hard rule, but we generate a more draftable cube if we support each other's archetypes instead of each person running in a different direction.
All basic lands in a drafter's deck are assumed to be Snow or Snow-covered. One of each artifact basic land is in the ULD. One ally and one enemy colored version of the following cycles are assumed to be in the ULD:

Shocks, Fetches, Alpha duals, Bouncelands, Painlands, Trilands, Checklands, and Scrylands.

Lands that look like this are already in the Utility Land Draft, no need to add them:
Tundra, Temple of Enlightenment, Hallowed Fountain, Adarkar Wastes, Azorius Chancery, Mystic Monastery, Glacial Fortress, Flooded Strand.

What luck! Not that my cards actually have high CMC on them, but yeah there's something happening there.

What do you think about including red's "damage all the non-flyers" + blue flyers, as a sub-archetype of the high-CMC deck?

That would be pretty neat. Using gatherer, I see there's actually a lot more neat CMC matters type stuff than I realized. You could go really deep.

CMC matters has good overlap with reanimator too.

some more CMC matters, along with some Mardu graveyard-matters cards that build off of return to the ranks.

unfortunately reveillark is banned here, but this could be some high CMC vs low CMC dichotomies

Hey should we do the simple thing and support all 10 color pairs, or should we do the wedgie thing and support 5 color pairs + the 5 wedges/shards that are made up of those color pairs? I vote the simple thing, but I can be bullied into wedgies.

Gw little kid stuff. If we keep going down this path this cube is going to have some crazy awesome dynamics as far as mana curves go.

That is beautiful. I shed a single tear. Suture Priest seems like the nuts with Aluren, breaks the symmetry and enables infinite lifegain combos. man-o'-war is on the banlist though ;_;. Mist Raven instead maybe?
