General Fight Club

I've been trying to figure out more ways to jam in food as part of a cross-synergy between my bourgeoning life gain sub theme and my trinkets subtheme that my beloved Stridehangar Automaton sent into overdrive earlier this year. I recognize that I'm going too deep on this, but I want to take it to its practical extreme because it's an interesting direction for my Cube now that I've de-powered my list quite a bit.

I've always had a good amount of artifact creatures relative to most of us, but Iron Spider, Stark Upgrade works great across different decks (and is a fine beater on her own a la my first true love Phyrexian Ironfoot) but Aloy, Savior of Meridian works on a completely different vertical while still wanting many of the same cards.

I am also enjoying other favorite cards get better with the rise of trinkets like Syr Ginger, the Meal Ender, Rosie Cotton of South Lane, Legion Extruder, and Karn, Scion of Urza. I finally can justify my boy Gadrak, the Crown-Scourge. Even Umbral Collar Zealot has improved since its recent inclusion, and Biotech Specialist feels uncuttable even if he ends up making a unique token as a novel alternative win condition.

Going even deeper into food, I've been trying out Bumi's Feast Lecture and Campsite Cuisine. This is where I think it's actually a stretch, but I kind of like them. Trying to figure out how to best support them and I came up with these. Do they make sense?

Icing Manipulator was one I played for a single Cube when it came out because I was so fascinated by it but...I don't remember! I don't know if anyone played it or had any questions or even if it made it into the pool. It's exactly what I want conceptually, and the cross-synergies with all the +1/+1 counters running around promises really cool deck construction and play patterns. But it's super confusing!! Maybe? I can't really tell. At least the +1/+1 counters really only need to tap when they die.

Meriadoc Brandybuck has been in Cube before. I only run a handful of hobbits, but my bigger concern is that people will think it's a bigger part of my Cube than it is if I have a on-its-face hobbits-matter card. It's not great, either, but I think that's OK. I think I want it more than Spider-Pig.

Gourmand's Talent solves the problem a la Icing Manipulator, and also contributes to the larger life gain thing, but it also adds another unique token and...I'm not sure people will actually want to play it? I will, but I'm curious if this seems appealing enough at my power level.

Is he a joke to you??? This guy is weird, but will play well especially with a small life gain subtheme.

Thought you were on the Talent, not anymore I guess. These two can mill people out real quick if you are generating a lot of fodder!

Tap down your foods, not your mana.

I really like Bumi's Feast Lecture, I say go for it! At worse a bear with counter and land synergies. At best who knows!
Campsite Cuisine should also be pretty good with your legendary theme.

I'm in the market for an equipment that makes creatures unblockable. Unfortunately all the good options are UB (I'm aware of Trailblazer's Boots) and all discussion of them online revolves around commander, so was hoping to get some cuber's insight.

• I like Silver Shroud Costume's base floor of being a trick, but it has more dubious value afterwards as an equipment.
• I love what Psychic Paper does for tribal synergies, but I'm not sure what / if any tricks there are to pull with the creature name part (which just adds confusion), and no free equip / equip 2 makes it really painful to get rolling.
• Brotherhood Regalia offers a mostly worthless tribal synergy, but offers more protection and the equip legend cost makes it tempting. I don't see this so much as a legend build-around and just that so many creatures are legends now that it's usually equipping for {1}

I think my dream card would be like a Brotherhood Regalia that gives changeling, a psychic paper that only cost {1} to cast, or a Silver Shroud that didn't revolve around the shroud keyword or had some stat increase that makes it worth re-equipping.

Anyone run any of these, or another option, to say which they prefer?

Kinda unblockable and more overall useful work?

Not sure what the purpose of being unblockable is here, so not sure if these work. Sword of X&Y also give 40% coverage.

Is granting flying maybe also enough for you? Because this one had really overperformed for me (looting strong).

Good call-out! I can definitely see this punching above it's weight, but I would have loved for it to trigger on attack (ala Pip-Boy 3000)

Any of these an option?
I can't believe I've forgotten about this card, and I'm surprised I don't see more people running this! Maybe it's because it generally gets pushed out by Mask of Memory, but I think they each have their uses.
This is great though and pretty close to what I'm looking for. I love the idea of slapping it onto a creature that gains from connecting, and putting your opponent in kind of a lose / lose scenario.

In an adjacent space

I've never gotten the chance to play with or against this card, so am woefully unequipped to gauge it's power level, but I don't want to be anywhere near in power to the OG Jitte, so this has always been tempting.

Now that I'm experimenting more with Earthbending maybe 'untap target land' has some cool synergies outside of it's 'intended' purpose for busted lands like Cradle and Academy (which I don't run). Equip {1} is great either way.

Smart thinking on the eater here; I'd been running Bonesplitter for it's simplicity, but I like the idea of equipping this to a Illvoi Galeblade and just making your own Equip {1}, get flying equipment I'm hoping for. Also recent additions like Dragon Sniper are pretty dirty with this too.

Winged boots seem like a strong card, but a little boring, and promotes not interacting with your opponents creatures on multiple levels. The Lens , Lost Jitte, and Zephyr boots seem like they strike a fairer balance there.

Thanks all for your suggestions!
