Walking Ballista was, for what it's worth, an eminently playable card while in Standard without requiring much in the way of support, so you probably don't need to depower your list all that much.

They had this draft format in the commander set and the sentiment from I think Seth was negative. It's much quicker, and a lot more committal. I also think 4p drafts are prone to deck quality problems this doesn't really solve.

Eerie Gravestone Scout the City Kind of neat, theming aside. The names are very reprintable at least, although it's not all that obvious why scouting a city would kill a flier.
