Wow, I didn't know MMA had really unplayable jank like thundering giant. Wise decision, but be careful every little unseeming upgrade of a janky slot could make the next worst thing, well, worse.
Why do people spend time and money for booster drafts, when they could save the latter and use the former for Cube? It's right there, you lottery addicts!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I checked which themes explicitly could need more overlap with artifacts and will probably try these three (Bonesplitter stays):
Signal Pest
Collector's Vault
Candy Trail
Oh, of course, added it!

I don't have to cut all four. And, actually, there is also Manor Gargoyle I would like to cut for similar reasons.
So, I realized I was still running a bunch of equipment (partly) from a short period of time where I tried to make equipment as a theme work. Now, these four cards appear relatively blank. They don't do much for my other themes/archetypes.
Bonesplitter
Trusty Machete
Vulshok Morningstar...
Some cards should just get a retro frame printing already. After finally getting Noose Constrictor, my biggest wish now would be this guy:
Tolarian Terror
Btw, you know I love madness. I could see it in a old frame cube as a nonwhite archetype.
Stuff to discard:
Fiery Temper
Anger
Squee, Goblin Nabob
Blazing Rootwalla
Stromkirk Occultist
Violent Eruption
Terminal Agony
Necrogoyf
Gisa 's Bidding
Dark Withering
Basking Rootwalla
Genesis
Arrogant...
If I would do an old border cube (I am so close to it) I would allow my self retroactively old bordered cards, if they feel okay in the context. Like, Mogg War Marshal or Krenko's Command seem totally fine in old border and give you some solid two drops that work with the proposed goblin typal...
Young Wolf has a retro frame printing too, but sadly it doesn't say on it what the one word of rules text it has means (undying) which sucks for cube obviously.
Fifth Dawn was a weird set, but a real banger for cubes (of different power levels). It gave us many elegant designs that in many cases scale nicely with an environment. Some examples would be Eternal Witness, Trinket Mage or Serum Visions (let's not forget, that 5DN introduced the scry mechanic...
