I like blue auras that turn creatures into dinky little things. Unable to Scream and Eaten by Piranhas might be my favorites. I wish this one was just a tiny bit better: Sugar Coat

I love bounce. In my core module I'm running these three: Mistblade Shinobi Man-o'-War Unnerving Grasp Jellyfish and Ninja are just two classics I adore and will probably still never ever cut. Unnerving Grasp is a cool side grade, as being a spell, milling and manifesting have some synergistic...

Interesting. It's not like I put a ton of thought into this, but my instinct was, that a straight up colorshifted Repulse in white would be better than the blue original. The main reason I am not cubing Repulse is that I view it more as a tempo card and not really as much as a control tool...

Mastery should be playable in all but the highest power level, but it would probably also never be much more than a C/C-. Strike is worse. Both get better in fast environments I would say.

Hm, I haven't watched Korra yet, tbh, but I like the idea of getting another set with firebending, earthbending and especially airbending. Speaking of which. Airbending Lesson Could this card be better than one would think? It is not exactly white Repulse but kinda close to it in low curving...

What do you guys think: (when) do we get a Legend of Korra set?

I love everything about this card, except the fact that it seems a little off, flavor wise, for a messenger hawk to be (partly) black. I know, set design needs probably lead to this being {U/B} and I am glad we get more cool hybrid designs like this, but it would feel more right to cube with...

I haven't been as hyped for a set (after spoilers) for quite a few years I think. Avatar: The Last Airbender is not only a masterpiece, it's world is also a perfect fit fot MtG. I don't mind the comic-ish art style on some cards, magic had this before (original Ravnica has quite a few...

I know dozens of enfranchised players, some who love UB, some who don't, but I have yet to hear from one who left the game since. You are, again, making a generalized statement that does not represent reality. Even the data supports this, as MaRo revealed that even among the most enfranchised...

I'd say that depends on the card. Firebending Student reads simple even if you spell out the bending ability. If a card is otherwise clean and easily comprehensible, it could just be "the mechanic X card", like Honored Hydra is in my cube the one embalm card, but that's fine because it's just a...

But they do like these. And they do vote with their wallets. You just don't like how they vote and you're in denial about that.

So, you claim to define "true old school fans"? And if someone would be playing for 25+ years, be well versed in old mtg lore, loves playing old school cards from pre modern area etc. but doesn't hate UB in general, they wouldn't be a "true old school fan"?

You're not representative of all (old) fans. I am an old fan and I prefer a rich UB world to many of magic's original settings, which are sometimes super one note (even older ones, like theros being a whole plane looking like a single place from our world in the past, same...

It's weird that you are such an UB hater, dude, you even made some Pokémagic cards yourself as well.

It is not even that difficult to blend in with Magic's aesthetics, even if you discount negative outliers like Aetherdrift. I mean, there is a lot of room on a spectrum between Bloomburrow and (New) Phyrexia. "Feeling Magic" is really mostly just being essentially a fantastical world telling a...

This was meant to say double strike, right? Super sad that they nerfed that, it would've been a great fit for my CCC if it wasn't so so bad.

This set has so so many cool cards that I can't really fit into my cube, with all the additional jumpstart cards (including great reprints with fitting art) I am really considering to make an Avatar Cube. I'll probably do this once the inevitable Legend of Korra Set arrives

Obsessive Pursuit {1}{B} Enchantment When this enchantment enters and at the beginning of your keep you lose 1 life and create a Clue Token. Whenever you attack put X +1/+1 counters on target attacking creature where X is the number of permanents you sacrificed this turn. If X is equal or...

This set just keeps on giving cool cards: Why play a man land when you could have a land that turns all your lands into man lands? Sorcery speed probably kills this for most of us, but I love how cool they captured that creepy character here. Note how she is not legendary! Neat...

This is so cool. I'm not sure that it's much better than good ol' Gravedigger, and it's a bit wordy, but it would make for a neat occasional.
