Apparently the Phyrexian text on the scriptures art is actually the flavor text from that Dark Ritual, according to Reddit.

Holy hell, I just got hit by the strongest nostalgia bomb. I've been playing since Revised but I've taken a ton of breaks, and my biggest MtG based regret is not playing during Time Spiral block (I got burned out during Kamigawa and missed both original Ravnica and Time Spiral).

I tried it and came to the conclusion that Jace was just a more interesting card. I liked the tension Jace created, and swapped out both Cumber Stone and Fact or Fiction for him.

Flameblade Adept Hollow One So there's a pretty cool deck in Modern that uses these cards along with Faithless Looting and other red discard/draw. Is it possible to get the density of discard outlets in cube to make these viable?

I think that has more to do with FRF just being a bad set in general. They did take a risk with that set and tried something interesting with it, but the experiment didn't pan out. The set had to serve too many masters. Triple Khans was way better, and I think Dragons would have been a better...

Just got back from my prerelease. Does this set feel kind of phoned in to anyone else? Every game felt exactly like Ixalan, except you had to stop and count to 10 every couple of turns. This is the last small set, right?

Oh snap, check out Martyr of Dusk. No human or spirit synergies, but the initial body is better than Doomed Traveler, and in some situations lifelink can be better than flying. I’m going to test it if I ever get to cube again.
