Pendrell's Cube (576 cards, powered, uses a test pool)

(had this post ready earlier but the site went offline for a while and I went out, so here it is!) That is a lot of things to consider. Thanks for the comment, xyz! • I didn't even remembered Judge's Familiar existed so it seems only natural for it to replace Cursecatcher. I can even switch...

Pendrell's Cube (576 cards, powered, uses a test pool)

I have recently updated my list with M14 and some other changes. I have detailed some things on my MTGSalvation thread but since I never get any feedback there, I might as well transfer all of the discusion to this thread here. The following are my latest changes: List Changes: - Revoke...

    Article ChannelFireball: Magic 2014 Review

I really liked the article. The evaluations on the Hydra and Lifebane Zombie were about what I expected but very elegantly put and well presented. Don't think you needed to waste time on Witchstalker, though, especially since there was not much to talk about. Also thoroughly enjoyed your...

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Kozilek did actually hit the board when I was playing against that deck. Lucky for me I had Swords to Plowshares to make it go away at the end step. What did actually won some games for the deck was the interaction of Sun Titan and Phantasmal Image (along with Volrath's Stronghold that kept...

    General Blue Aggro?

D'oh...got the wrong Sygg here...will edit my post to point to the right one! So, it gets to a point that to accomodate blue aggro, your cube doesn't have to be power-oriented and you are playing suboptimal cards and/or breaking singleton. OK. Weren't we supposed to be the community that...

Article Top 8 Most Oppressive Cube Cards

I don't believe it is just being ahead that makes geddon auto-win. Pairity or just below it also doesn't make it a game winning card. You have two creatures on board, your opponent have one sized about your biggest creature and suddenly geddon is uncastable. You play it against a control...

    General Blue Aggro?

This has been a very interesting discussion so far. I have compiled a range of know strategies below in an easy-to follow graphic: (might need corrections) I have been consistently trying to improve blue as a color that taps creatures to win games and I don't think I like the pure aggro route...

Article Top 8 Most Oppressive Cube Cards

That's what I meant. How to make those cards produce fun games is the real question. I stand by my proposition of the fun-factor of these cards being determined by the speed of the environment. If the answer to "Why did you lose to Armageddon?" is "My deck doesn't do anything relevant until turn...

There you go: (I said column when I meant line. Second point was also rather confusing after re-reading it. Sorry :p)

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Yeah, on a second thought, it makes sense calling it Esper Ramp. Though I don't think it was played as an actual ramp deck. The pilot seemed to be ever so cautious about his plays. Maybe he never had a starter with either ramp artifacts.

You could try putting the nonbasics on a separate column. Also, let the right-most one be closer to the viewer...looks more natural :p

Article Top 8 Most Oppressive Cube Cards

This is pretty much what bugs me with most cards that are deemed too powerful. People usually say "this is too good/weak" in a vacuum while there are plenty of factors that account for a card being overpowered or not. Just this weekend, for instance, I saw a player lose a game with a Wurmcoil...

Article Top 8 Most Oppressive Cube Cards

Both Zo-zu and Ankh have been good aggro support cards here. Nothing oppressive. I haven't tried Nether Void either, but was thinking about testing it since it looks like Armageddon in black and geddon is neat aggro support as well.

Article Top 8 Most Oppressive Cube Cards

I really enjoyed the article, even though I'm playing cards 7 through 2 in my main cube :p Black Vise was absolutely unimpressive in my list as the decks tend to empty their hands pretty quickly and even control decks could play around the vise quite easily. Moat, on the other hand, was just...

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

After months of drafting and not recording decklists, I have finally remembered to take pictures of winning decklists. Pictures were blurry and looked like crap, so I'm transcribing the lists: One: 1 Mother of Runes 1 Greater Gargadon 1 Lightning Bolt 1 Mystical Tutor 1 Preordain Two: 1...

Yeah, I was thinking mostly about lands. Even in cubes with duplicate, I imagined it is quite hard to have 4+ of any single nonbasic land card. Anyway, if the grouping is restricted to basic lands only and duplicates are show to regular cards, I'm okay with it. I just looked at raredraft.com...

Woah, looks pretty impressive! You are doing a great job here, Eric! Some nitpicks: • It feels unnecessary to have 4+ duplicated images of the same card. Would it be possible to have something like a 4x marker near the card name? It's not absurdly important, just thought it might be neat if...

    Eldrazi Domain Cube

http://cubetutor.com/draftdeck/6699 First draft that I saved the decklists! (other were before persistent login and I lost all the decklists) Would this deck actually be any good or is it too slow to matter?
