It's close enough. It makes the creature large enough, especially in Limited formats, that the exile is mostly flavor. Sure, there are corner cases with recursive creatures, indestructible, or deathtouch, but Battlegear is the precedent and easiest comparison.

Fight Kavu could be a 4/3 so it doesn't always just die when it comes into play. Really Bad Luck would probably just be Damnation with an occasional weird power-matters interaction.
