First off, I want you to replay. I know you, and I know you're a reasonable person If we can't discuss important things, whats the point of being able to have discussions? I've been an active participant in postmodern thought since 2006, when I first read the Killing of History by Keith...

Well, I wouldn't want to censor his work, so by all means read it if you wish. Certainly, if it fits your political leanings it will probably be pretty enjoyable in an echo chamber sort of sense. Its just pretty predictable and dull stuff if you've been following postmodern or neo-marxist...

I’ve never really cared for his work, and this has got to be one of the worst pieces he’s written. He’s taking extreme postmodern ideology, and than just crudely forced the magic player base to confirm to it. If he had stuck with some of the more basic points (pay to win game design is bad)...

    Triple Khans Cube

I like this idea a lot, I think the main obstacle for people is just understanding the sets and how they worked. Do you start just by taking a raw set of commons and uncommons and drafting those? Or do you sort of guess as to what the right number of each card should be?

[500] CCC - Casual Champions Cube

Its just kind of slow and clunky, ok, but the power level has to be really down there for the dragon to really be an exciting bomb. Its kind of a clunky artifact ernahm djinn, which is ok, but generally not going to be priortized by drafters or seen as a real payoff. Just compare it with...

[500] CCC - Casual Champions Cube

I would probably jam him, at 500 cards, with only a few artifact payoff cards, the theme feels very diluted. I found myself being drawn more towards the signets with upheavel as the payoff card, but than ended up a fun looking blink/tempo deck instead. Mask of memory is too good for me to...

Do you have a link to the update? I can still only see the old 450

I'm guessing very little if any. They are basically planeswalker variants that tick up to an ultimate turns 6-7, which is well within the time crunch for most formats. I would be more concerned with running too many creating a stealth midrange buff, but only one way to find out.

In a slower format where you can take advantage of the improved draw quality, its just better than restock. The big thing with that card, is that to get the most value out of it, you want the game to go longer than 8 turns. When you combine that with it being a 5 mana investment that dosen't...

I think its because it takes lands out of the deck. So if you’re long gaming it, it does improve your draws, just not a ton of control over it. This card aside, the sagas seem to make enchantment recurssion a lot better as a strategy in gy formats.

General Getting Started - The Core of A Cube

Generally, you're just deliberaly nesting the archetypes into guild combinations, at this point of the process. Of course, in practice, you aren't trying to keep people from coloring outside of the lines (nor would it be good to do so), but its a good mental excerise to go through. For...

General Getting Started - The Core of A Cube

Its extremely difficult to design a cube without some general direction. If something is everything all at once, it trends towards being a poorly articulated nothing. Even something as simple and crude as power max as a goal, at least takes the fog of infinite possibility away, and allows for...

General Getting Started - The Core of A Cube

I would interpret that as narrowing the question of "what is my cube format" down to its most essential elements. You'll never really do that on your first draft, which is fine, but its a continual process, and at least you have some articulated point that you're moving towards. Early on...

General Front Page Article - card kingdom's starter cube

At a glance, the format actually looks pretty legit: very riptide. 10/10 it should consider the bouncelands, as it dosen't seem to have any of the cards that hose them, and they add so much in terms of consistancy and deck design depth. The only reason to not run them would be if the format...

Why did WOTC get rid of the squirrel tribe again? Flavor text is great too.

That has got to be one of the nicest things I've seen someone offer to do on a forum. Onder, you're a class act.

I assumed it was a guess, infered from the similarity of the arts. I thought it was cool, because if so, its a really clever way to kind of put flavor text in a card frame where you are working with minimial space.

I looked that up, and so cool. Evidently, from the mythology, the image is suppose to be black ichor streaming from the eyes, which is symbolic of corruption. Replacing that with the sacrificial blood is neat, as you could interpret it than as a corruption of life itself flowing into phyrexian...
