    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

This is the first time I've heard about these two cards! Do you guys think they are better/more interesting for reanimator decks than: Artisan of Kozilek?

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

Robber of the Rich is probably better in your cube since you have more players to attack. My issue with the card is that it's often blank on the draw and even then has a 40% chance of not doing anything. Big Thalia is great and very versatile, I recommend giving her a try.

    Sets (STX) Strixhaven Testing/Includes Thread

I'm not liking the set so far. Multicolour focus, two-faced cards that have nothing to do with each other and a spellslingers theme might be fun in other formats but there's little that. So far the only cards that have caught my eye are: Elite Spellbinder Callous Bloodmage Conspiracy Theorist

    General Nega-Cube on Magic Online

I don't think so. If it went by ELO it would not pass Garruk Wildspeaker and other generically powerful cards. However, it might be part of the equation as the bots do overdraft Tinker.

    General Nega-Cube on Magic Online

One factor I've noticed is that Cobra has very little "memory". If you pass a card for a couple of drafts it will sink to the bottom. For example, Garruk Wildspeaker should be picked by any gree drafter at the table but if I don't take it for a couple drafts because I'm not on those colours, the...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I've thought quite a bit about running the Scholar or the Gearhulk and I'm increasingly opposed to the former. Seven mana is too much for fair decks and it has some real busted potential. So I'll just revise a few cards instead. Do you see any cards, especially in red, white and black that could...

    General Fight Club

Command the Dreadhorde is much worse than it looks. Her'es one I'm undecided on: Scholar of the Lost Trove vs Torrential Gearhulk Gearhulk is not as good as it seems in my cube, as I don't run as many instants. However, Scholar costs seven mana which is a lot. It also has blowout potential...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Thanks a lot for the decklists Nanonox! They were very helpful. What I wonder is: How many Laboratory Maniac effects do I need to run in my cube? Is one enough? I could use the slot. Thassa's Oracle Laboratory Maniac My woes have also been done away with, as the newly spoiled Elite...

These all look like islands to me.

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I've been thinking about some potential changes in UBR. ONE Bloodsoaked Champion Bloodsoaked Champion -> Bloodsoaked Champion Gravecrawler There's not much of a need for two humans and I think Gravecrawler could open some interesting lines of play. I don't have many zombies, though, so...

    General CBS

Tradewing Rider is maligned sometimes because it's repeateble bounce but I've found very skill-testing in practice. Just bouncing the same permanent over and over is rarely the best play, especially as your opponent adapts. It's a fairer Oppossition-like card. If you like what Oppossition brings...

    General Fight Club

I hadn't considered Force of Virtue. However, if you don't have enough white cards to pitch, it's four mana, two more than Intangible Virtue. Do you think the card is playable on normal terms?

    General Fight Club

I want to support tokens but I'm not sure if a broader anthem would be better. Which one do you like more and why? Intangible Virtue Glorious Anthem

Please explain to me how to make this card work: Altar of Dementia

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

So far it doesn't actually seem very Potter-esque so it's actually fine to me. But I just can't keep a straight face when I see stuff like "Toralf's Hammer". It totally breaks my immersion and feels cheap and tired. I like games because they offer me new ideas and themes to explore. Seeing that...

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

Golden butterflies? I'm sorry, but witches aren't real. Anyways, I agree the theme is dumb. But I think all Magic set based on existing worlds with the number filed off are. I'm surprise we still don't have Sherlock Holmes in the game, seems like an inevitable candidate.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

By why would you want to run Omnath? I mean, it's a four colour card that gets back its cost in mana, tempo and cards. There's nothing else to it.

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

The addition of Reflector Mage has been a good one. It works well in tempo decks. It also makes blink more of a thing given the other tools the arctheype has access to. Perhaps Blink is more of a tool and doesn't lean as much into midrange as I had hoped but it's good enough for my revision of...

    Dom's Stream of Consciousness

I'm glad you guys managed to make it work. I couldn't and it felt like you had to have a very high number of artifact creatures for it to be worth playing.

    Dom's Stream of Consciousness

Let me share my thoughts here. 1) I like the small snow splash. I've actually been thinking of running exactly the same cards. If you are running Icehide Golem to support aggro in different archetypes, please try Gingerbrute. It's a great, versatile card and has a bunch of cool synergies...
